So I recently got my new computer, and for some reason, only on this computer, I keep getting the annoying pop ups on here that say "If you see this more than once 24 hours change cookie settings etc" thing is, I've messed around with it a bunch and it won't go away and it's really bugging me x.x So, anyone help me?

So you've allowed modthesims.info in your browser cookie settings, and your antivirus if it has that feature?

I don't think so? I do not have an antivirus at the moment, as far as I'm concerned. The main problem is everytime I click anywhere on this site, I get that annoying advertisement popup. The one with the notice saying if you get it more than once within 24 hours change your cookie settings.

Which browser are you using? (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari)

Instructions on allowing cookies in IE, albeit an older version, are here: MTS2:No Cookies Foundwiki (Replace "www.modthesims2.com" with "modthesims.info")

Thank you, but I'm afraid the problem still exists =/

"Please visit our sponsors. If you see this popup more than once every 24 hours, please check your cookie settings! " Shows up every time I click a link anywhere on this site. It is super annoying. D:

I have you tried pressing ctrl+F5 to release the cache and reload the page? I run into this problem occasionally and that always clears it right up.

I tried it on a few pages, and it worked, but the same thing would still pop up again. D:

Hmm, interesting. Try clearing both your cookies and your cache (should be in IE's options, probably under privacy or security) - sometimes these things just need metaphorically turning off and on again.

IE8 has issues with MTS. You need to run in Compatibilty mode for it to work properly.

Tumblr - Yes, I have a blog. :)

<Corsix> Why 'mod the sims 2' when you can mod 'mod the sims 2'?

Lyne: Well, if it only started happening yesterday then you need to look at what you changed yesterday on your PC. The servers and site certainly hasn't changed, and many others dont have this issue, so it's definately something your end.

Yeah, Delphy, you are right....But I can't remember if I changed something in my Firefox...
MTS works fine in your pc, right? Do you use Firefox? Can you give me the settings you have setted on the "options" menu? I mean everything!
And then maybe I can make it work well here again
Please! :3

LyneKas: Everything in my options? Err, no that would take too long to type out. You specifically want Options -> Privacy -> Exceptions though

Have you done the same with other programs that might be blocking cookies? Such as your antivirus?
Have you cleared cookies, restarted the browser, and tried again?

No, I haven't changed in my antivirus....I haven't found any place there where I could change something about websites....like allow cookies from " x " website....
And why should I change somthing there if I haven't done any alterations on it in the last days? :O
btw, my Antivirus is Norton. Do you know if there's a place where I can alter some configuration about websites?

And yes, I've cleaned the cookies. many, many, many times
What should I do, my God?!

*Thanks for the attention, anyway!

AHA! Solved problem! \o/
I was really bored about this cookies problem and then I worked hard in finding a solution....Well, in case of Firefox, it is a problem that occurs when the browser crashes for any reason and is inappropriately closed.
What you need to do to solve this is deleting the file called "cookies.sqlite".
Step by step (for WIN Vista)

-Close Firefox.
-Open C:\Users\[YOUR USER]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
-Open the folder with some random letters and numbers
-Find and delete the "cookies.sqlite" file.
-Open Firefox and clean the cache.
-Close and reopen Firefox again and be happy!

Don't know the way on WIN XP or any other, but just click on "search" and find the file! :P
Well, Delphy, if it happens again for another one someday, you can tell this to him/her
