I don't know if it's a problem with the site, my internet access or if the problem is on the way, but during the last two or three weeks there are times when the icons in the forum view are not showing. Some of them like "go to last post" are written out and clickable, others are completely missing. While posting this, the tools like Bold/Italic... and the smileys are just words (but usable). In the forums the avatars and the icons for donators/creators... are gone, too.
At the same time dropdown menues are not working. The only working options in the nav bars (top and bottom) are direct links like "Home" or the username. Even the thanks option in the downloads doesn't work, not from the bar, the icons are not showing.
This lasts sometimes about twenty minutes, sometimes a few hours and everything is back to normal then.

I didn't change my firewall or browser settings for weeks, and when I tried there was no change. I'm using Firefox 3.5.5 but get the same with IE8.
I've tried to log out (had to clear the cookie for that because I can't reach the log out option when this happens) and log in again, but the only difference is, that the direct links to the adult site and the wiki are now gone, the news are gone, too. Only the link to the yearbook is still there.

I know that everything will be back to normal in a few hours, but this happens for weeks now at different times of the day, and I hope that it is possible to solve this problem. Fortunately I have bookmarked the forum view and the downloads and can reach most parts of the site with some workarounds, but I would prefer working menus.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds to me like a problem getting the static content (javascripts and icons and images).

When it does happen next, can you see what happens if you go to http://static.modthesims.info/ and http://static2.modthesims.info/ ?

Tumblr - Yes, I have a blog. :)

<Corsix> Why 'mod the sims 2' when you can mod 'mod the sims 2'?

Story books are full of fairy tales, of Kings and Queens, and the bluest skies.

With both links I'm getting "Server not found".

When you do a command line "ping static.modthesims.info" What IP address do you get back?

I'm getting the message that the host can't be found and I should check the name and try again.

Just wanted to add, that there weren't any problems during the last week. Thanks for your help.

Edit:

Again!

The same as before, static.modthesims.info isn't accessable, static2 is. Any idea if the problem is on my end, on your's or somewhere inbetween?
