It's not lame at all! Well, atleast I don't think so...
I got into a habbit of drawing my made up "race" of amphibious, big-eyed, long eared tribal people (I think that's why I love this challenge so much!) and after a while I started to develove a culture around them, they have gods (that, in their world are real and even sometimes choose to live among them, none of them are named yet - maybe a language is next? XD) They have different ranks and jobs, well, more like "duties". I think it's a great way to exersize your imagination, and waste time XD.
I often spend hours at a time thinking about stories for my people, like, I have a "character" and so does my boyfriend and they have their own stories. I don't think Lee really cares what his character gets up to but I enjoy telling him XD.

I just feel a bit self-conscious describing them. I like to tell my boyfriend what my tribes have been getting up to xD I was like a proud parent when I told him that I had successfully managed to get all of my generation 3 children married off =']. Although because Demi had twins just days before she became an elder (Twasan already was one) - the ownership of the tribal base is going to skip a generation. This is because the original heir had to move out because of a cultural rule that a daughter can not raise children in the same home as her mother's children are still being raised. So now the original heir's children (4th generation) are the same age as the 3rd generation "last minute" twins. So yeah, the family tree leading from the tribal base heir is going to be a generation behind the rest of the family. Ugh.

I make up my own tribal-sounding names too Shwani was the name of the female Mufassa gen1 starter, and it's a name which is being passed down the family as an honour-name. Twasan is a male name I'm proud of, and Rastan. -an is a male ending to a name in my tribal community - Kalan was the name of the male starter. -i is popular with women - Demi, Kalasi (the latter is another of my favs :D). Some of the names spawned automatically by the game go well too, Demi was one of those. Same for Javier and Juan for men.

Sorry if I took long but it's just that im working on some other challenges too, mainly the 100 baby challenge ._.
----

This was the huts that both of them could build, after all, we were no experts in making houses. I looked around, everything was desserted. As far as I knew there was only one tribe apart from the one they had. Their tribe's name was Fire, while the other was Water.

Their house was built near the sea shore while ours was near the used-to-be park. Both of us worked so hard to keep us alive.

And then suddenly I gave birth to twins. (Can't remember the name sorry guys)

My husband and the other tribes leader met to talk about how they were going to work together.

I wonder if we can survive with little to no people at all in this place....

---------------
so how was it? I was one of the first sim stories I have ever made so I guess it kind of sucks xDD!!...are the pictures too big??

Got some piccys
And BTW, there is nothing wrong with inventing your own races and cultures. Everyone plays the game in their own way - and personally I feel that inventing cultures and histories gives the game alot more depth and interest why, I once had a family based around the Cthulhu/ Innsmouth fish people X) we had alot of fun with them.

But I digress. Presenting, the Duin tribe and lands

The Duin huts. They're settled in an enclosed, forested valley, near to a source of fresh water. You can just see Lyulf and Anuba at the bottom.

Another shot of the huts

Veg patch. Pre-veggies at this point

Anuba and her first child, Skadi

I'm still working on the backstory here, but once I've ironed it out a bit, I'll fill you in

Well, How do you get vegtables to plant if you delete all the community lots or do you keep the shop?

You can make some community lots that have vegetables and then you can have your sims go harvest them

Find some seeds, sophieridley. Theres usually some around, they spawn every now and again. Keep an eye out, and you'll find them. And you can sell your produce by going into your inventory, and dragging the stuff to the box on the left, with the big simoleon sign

If its anything, I deleted everything except the town hall, and nothing gone horribly wrong yet

I'm creating a new island world without any RHs and it's coming along nicely. My little pet project, lol. It won't be completely without electricity or anything but will be quite modest. Like they are living in today but don't have advanced technology like TV's

Solved that issue with loads of spawners and harvest community lots. If it looks to be annoying to play though after I've completed most of it and tested it for a while I might use the RH rugs to create some of them like the shop and school

well, to be fair, I did keep a few of parks and fishing spots, and just rusticated them a bit, and added a new graveyard. Actually, I'm quite proud of the graveyard I used the stonehenge-ish decoration, and built around it. I'll post a pic at some point

Everyone's tribes look awesome =D I'm glad so many people are trying this challenge, its my favourite one I've ever tried and my Sims have just reached the 5th generation! Will get some pictures soon, so glad this thread is more active then it was when I started.

Anyone else planning on introducing modern Sims? I've just done so They haven't met each other yet but I may have accidently created enough modern Sims to match with the single tribesmen/women, hehe. My Sims needed more genes anyway, that gene pool starts to get a bit shallow after a while.

I have been looking at this thread a few times lately and since I finally got bored of my latest family I decided to bin them and have a go. I'm a bit OCD though when it comes to themed neighbourhoods etc and it bugs me if things don't 'fit'. Ive got the housing sorted, downloaded some new fur and animal skins textures for clothes, drapes etc and I found a perfect small world that I can use. My only problem is clothing. I know I can use the patterns to make the standard clothes 'look homemade/made from animal skins' but I'd really love to find some sort of loincloth thing for them males. Has anyone found anything like this?

@Mia138: If you have ambitions you can use the debug mode and unlock clothing cheats and there are some like, "stone age" looking clothes, from teens to elders, (not kids) but I dunno if once you get in game you can give them to new kids in the future. I used them and coloured them in the default cow prints and leather and stuff.

For the men I use the top which looks like a vest-top but with quite thick-looking "straps" and then knee-length shorts. Changed pattern to animal skin/leather/weave and there you go. For women I use either a short but loose-fitting dress or a strappy top and skirt together. If you have WA, some of the chinese/egyptian outfits and accessories are really useful - they're awesome for formal clothes, tribal leaders, elders and heirs.

Has changed username from Figgi to Lemon&Lime, thanks admins! :)

Thank you both for your suggestions I will try them both!

Times like this I really wish I could mesh though and make things because I think tribal stuff like that used for this challenge would be really popular. Unfortunately, even if I had the artistic ability (which I don't) as I'm a Mac user I can't even use most of the programs needed
Anyway, I'm off to build my new world. Hopefully will be back with some photos soon.

I was thinking of some idea's about my new island tribe thing. And I of course need roads and paths or else it will all fail. But when the sims travel somewhere on the road they use a taxi.. Meh. Would putting bicycles on every lot work?
