I use Riverview, because the swampy murkiness just seems a bit tribal to me, and I never like custom neighbourhoods. Also the lots are often far apart so gives the illusion of each tribe owning quite a bit of land. Riverview is also good if you want to introduce "modern" sims to clash with your tribal ones like I did. One side is swampy and wild, the other is clear and green and both are seperated by a bridge. Of course I completely stripped the neighbourhood of everything, including decorations (apart from trees and other natural things, I also left the fishing parks. I did keep the city hall and grocery store for practical reasons as well). I've gradually added the other rabbit holes as I've gone on like the school/hospital, but the problem is you've gotta remember where they were. I'm in the situation now where I can't figure out where to put each one so I keep having to start over whenever I want to add something. | |

Well I've gone and almost started it, lol. I say almost because I've made a grand total of *2* out of 5 families so far. Guess I've been too busy with my legacy. Anyhoo. The first tribe is called the Charisa tribe. This is my first Charisan family and their lot. The women have black tribal tattoos on their ankles, and if they're unmarried, they must cover it, however if they're married they can show it off. Men have the same tattoo only it's on their chest and it's bigger and they can show if off married or not. The woman's name is Parverti, and the man's name is Oota. The Charisans are most famous for their lettuce (as it's the only plant I've found on their family so far, lol). ![]() ![]() ![]() The second tribe is called the Roetang tribe. The Roetangians' grass is different from the Charisas' (the Charisans have greener grass with some dead grass patches here and there) and also the trees are different. Roetangian fashion is different as you'll see, and Roetangians also have the tribal tattoos (but unlike Charisans, their tattoos are greenish-blusish, more greenish actually) but only women have them and whether they're married or not they have the choice whether or not they wish to hide them. Roetangians walk barefoot and have darker skin. Also, Roetangian women have Elexis's Valentine Heart Lipstick as part of their make-up. Roetangians have invented both a clothsline to hang newly washed clothes on, and a ball to throw around to pass the time. Roetangians are famous for their grapes. If you're wondering, the woman's name is Aloehi and the man's name is Huritt. They are husband and wife. ![]() ![]() Playing their newly invented game, catch ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I love his wide-eyed expression in the last pic ![]() Well, I'm off to make the other families! :P |

I think I might give this one a try at some point! Maybe after I finish my legacy or as a side blog. Not sure yet. I think I might do it a bit differently. I might have it be a futuristic type of world. If any of you have read Divergent, it'll be something like that. In the meantime, I love hearing about your tribes! =] |

This sounds interesting, and something i might like since i enjoy having control over more than one household. Also, since my mother is a First Nation (Native American for all you non-Canadians lol) who grew up on a Indian Reserve, it will be interesting to get her input in making the tribes and so on. Will post pictures when i have some

Buy debug and add seed spawners, if the world doesn't have any. 'Bout ready to take this up again. I learned a lot from my last go-round. I was making a world for my next attempt, but it... yeah. I found one that would work, since I'm not doing so hot at world creation. ^_~ |

My first time really considering trying this, might try it with the Hidden Springs world since it has the dirt roads and awesome stuffeths like that. Debating whether or not to make an actual story on it, but I might post pictures. =) I wonder, should the schools be deleted? |

I may give this challenge a try! Is it all right if I move my families into an occupied neighborhood as long as they don't intermarry with the non-tribal locals and don't enter careers? |

OMIGOD I just read all the chapters to your story, and amazing is really to lame of a word to describe your story. It's phenomenal, superb, and genius. I've NEVER got into a sims story as much as I got into this one. So waiting for chapter 13....WHERE IS CHAPTER 13??? It's so sad, I almost had tears in my eyes. And this kind of thing really did happen in the Aztec and Mayan culture. Great Great Story!!!

My last go-round was on Isolation Island by Rflong that I found on the official Sims forum in the CAW section. It worked beautifully for the beginnings, but as soon as I'd branched my families out and made a stable population that I no longer needed to worry about arranging marriages for, the island just became too small and well, primitive. After a certain amount of generations, a Tribe becomes a group of Clans, and has learned enough to upgrade their standard of living. That's just history. I like taking my extra 'spares' in each family and marrying them off in opposite clans as their Heirs, and then splitting them from the main group to head their own household under a different but obviously related name. (Red spare marries Blue spare daughter, becomes Clan Purple) It helps me keep things straight and gives the town-to-be more variety. It's more to keep track of in the early to middle part of the Challenge, but then I can seamlessly transition this Tribal challenge into say, the Kingdom challenge just by assigning (predetermined and each family aimed in that direction from the start) social status to some clans, specific job/careers to others, and *poof* Nobles and Merchants appear! *lol* Anyway, I'll have to wait until after my computer is fixed (borrowing fiancee's right now) - but I've been re-doing a copy of Sunset Valley in CAW to have dirt roads and such, make it more low-tech. I was working on taking out all the lightposts and sewer grates when I first noticed my computer acting funny. Ironically, in taking apart the inside to verify my problem, I created another. Stupid cheap plastic pegs on the cpu fan broke. I can't even test the fixes I've done properly until I get a new fan |

Wow! I was just googling TS3 Challenges, looking for something to get me interested in actually sticking with a family for a while instead of a new family every day, and this came up. I'm uber excited about this! Off to try it now! Will post pictures soon! |

(ALL PICS HAVE BEEN RESIZED, THEY'RE JUST TAKING A MINUTE TO SHOW IT!) Which Tribe/Clan would you prefer as the main spotlight of the story? Alright, first off: Credits The world I'm using: Bougainvillea Bay The Inspiration: Devonharry08's thread on MTS Current Island Inhabitants: The Atsana Tribe After a battle that waged for many months, Shalani and Dlanic were the only surviors of their village. The white faced fiends that came over on a large ship to take their land were still searching for any natives as the childhood sweethearts hid in the nearby forest. They lived off the land, like they'd been raised to do, until the invaders halted their search thereby giving them the chance to escape. They stole a small boat and sailed until they reached a tiny island. Now that they are married, they're both ready to start a family, and stay as far away from the pale faced settlers in the forest and on the other side of the island. Shalani ![]() Dlanic ![]() Their Home: ![]() ![]() The Nawasa Tribe Tinaya was born to a family that served the leader of their town for very little money. The prince always had an eye on her, and the moment she came of age, ordered that she join his harem of women. Fearful, Tinaya left everything she knew behind and ran to the next city. There she met Gayan, an outcast from his village. He had been driven out by the elder when a false prophetess claimed he would bring about the destruction of the land and it's people. Both hunted by their kinsman, one to bring her home, the other to drive him far away, they fled as far as they could. Eventually they came to rest on Tribal Isle, not far from the area of beach the Atsana's settled on. The two tribes have struck up an easy friendship and hope to join their families with the next generation. They too avoid the Clans in other areas of the island, but will the future generations share that same choice? Tinaya ![]() Gayan ![]() Their Home: ![]() ![]() The Elfael Clan: Ceris and Leif weren't driven out of their homeland or attacked by strange people. They came to be on the island because Mother Nature willed it so. One morning the two awoke feeling restless. They set out by boat and let the water take them where she willed. They both love nature and despise anything that harms an animal. They settled in the wooded area of the island so that they could thrive on her energy. Their efforts to befriend the island natives have been fruitless, no matter their effort. Perhaps their children can bridge the gap between the families. Ceris ![]() Leif (Caught the first pic at a bad moment, I'll get a better one soon) ![]() ![]() Their Home: ![]() ![]() Xiao Clan Meiko and Nasir grew up just down the road from one another. They spent days by the creek and nights by the fire. They finally became more than friends just as they became young adults. Their shot at marital bliss was nearly ruined when their leader decided to launch an attack on a small tribe just across the ocean. With the leader preoccupied with battle plans, his sons were free to do as they pleased. Meiko just happened to catch one of the men's eye on her way home from the market to meet Nasir. If Nasir hadn't decided to surprise Meiko in town that day, she would have been taken into the palace and forced into a marriage with a man she despised. The man swore that there was nowhere they could run that would be far enough. Now married and ready to start a family, they hope he was wrong. Meiko ![]() Nasir ![]() Their Home: ![]() ![]() |
