The livingroom is left from the entrance and has a door to the backyard where your sim will find a lime tree. The bathroom has only a shower instead of a bathtub..
First Floor: bedroom, kitchen
The bedroom has one single bed, the balcony is for decoration only (without a door). The kitchen has the basic equipment plus a counter with two seatings.
The price for the house was already pretty much at the limit for a single starter so I removed the floortiles below the roof to save money. There was also not enough money left to add more decoration, wall art and/or plants. There are only a few curtains in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom to give the house a somewhat homey look.

The house is built on a foundation. The livingroom is left from the entrance, there is also a tv but no radio. The kitchen has basic equipment and a table with two chairs. The bathroom has a shower instead of a bathtub.
First Floor: bedroom, lavatory, corridor
The first floor can be accessed through an outdoor staircase. There your sim enters a big corridor which leads to the spacious bedroom at one side and to a small lavatory at the other side. At the end of this corridor is a bookshelf which didn't fit into the livingroom. Your sim won't have to walk far to read books – I also placed a chair close to the bookshelf.
The outside of the house has a very modern look, but the interior is not modern. The house is decorated with a few plants and pictures and there are also a few flowers in front of the house.

The house is built on a foundation. The livingroom and kitchen looks very spacious and furniture/walls are very colourful. There's a small lavatory located in the corner, left from the entrance.
First Floor: bedroom w/ workspace, bathroom
The staircase leads to the bedroom in which there's also a workdesk with a computer. The bathroom has a shower and a toilet – no sink.
The house is nicely decorated with wall art, curtains and plants. There's also a park bench and a little vegetable garden in the backyard with an apple tree, lettuce, onion, garlic, potatoe, bell pepper and tomato plants. This is the only lot which has a car included.

Your sim enters the house through a big entrance hall which is decorated with a few flowers and a red carpet which leads to the stairs. This room could also be used as a workspace or party area.
First Floor: livingroom, kitchen, bathroom, lavatory, bedroom
The corridor at the first floor connects all rooms. The kitchen is right from the staircase and has a dining table for 4 sims. Next to the kitchen is the bedroom. The livingroom is to the left side, there are two armchairs and a tv but no radio. A door behind the livingroom leads to a small lavatory, the main bathroom with another toilet and a shower is across the livingroom, left from the staircase.
There was no money left to add curtains but all rooms are decorated with wall art and/or plants. I had to remove the floortiles below the roof to save money. The landscaping of this lot is mainly terrain painted, however, around the house your sim will find many apple trees and lime trees.

The entrance hall and livingroom is in the center of the house and connects all other rooms. It's also the biggest part of the house and offers a fireplace and an easel. The spacious kitchen is to the right hand side and has a dining table for 4 sims. The bedroom and the bathroom (with shower) is at the left side of the house.
The house has only a few pictures and potted plants, but most of the windows have curtains. The vegetable garden at the right front of the house is big and offers all ordinary base game plants like potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, garlic, bell pepper etc. There are also some lime trees and apple trees in the vegetable garden and in front of the entrance.

The house is built on a foundation. The kitchen and livingroom is right behind the entrance. The bathroom has only a shower and a toilet, no sink. The bedroom is very small but has also a dresser.
This is not only the tiniest but also the cheapest of all my starter houses. Nevertheless it's nicely decorated with wall art, some flowers and courtains in all rooms. This starter home is perfect if your sim is a technophobe. It has neither tv nor radio. The kitchen has no stove but a fridge, however, there's an outdoor grill in the front garden of the house and also a picnic table.

The cosy little livingroom is right behind the main entrance of the house. From there your sim can enter the kitchen (right side), the backyard (opposite the main entrance) and the stairs to the upper level.
First Floor: corridor, bedroom w/ workspace, bathroom
The corridor is also a lounge area where your sim can read a book or listen to the music. The bedroom has a workdesk with a computer and the bathroom is equipped with a comfortable bath tub.
The house is small but nicely decorated with lots of wall art and some potted plants. Almost all windows have curtains or blinds. In the backyard of the house there's a portable fire pit with four seatings and also a few vegetable plants that will help your sim(s) to survive a while without having to search for a job.

The kitchen at the right side is small and has a dish washer instead of a kitchen sink. In the corner there's a dining table with three chairs, however, only two of them can be used by your sims (the one at the left can't be used because of the stairs above this place). There's a small lounge area with tv, radio and a bookshelf. A guitar (placed across the stairs) is the little extra of this house. The bathroom (with shower) is right next to the stairs. It's the only bathroom in the house.
First Floor: bedroom
The bedroom offers a double bed, a side table, a dresser and also a mirror at the wall.
The garden in front of the house (and to the left) isn't big but the cherry tree, the shrubs and flowers make it look nice. I had to remove some of the floor tiles below the roof to reduce the price for this lot. I wanted this one to be a starter for both single sims and couples.

The open-plan kitchen- and living area is very colourful. Wall art, curtains and plants give the room a nice look.
First Floor: bedroom, bathroom
A small corridor connects the bedroom with the bathroom. The bathroom has a bath tub and a big mirror above the washing basin. The bedroom is very small but big enough for one sim and offers not only the basics (bed, dresser etc.) but an armchair and a bookshelf. From the bedroom leads a door to the balcony (size: 2x4 floor tiles).
The garden has some hydrangeas, azaleas and terrain paint. The interior of the house is rather simple but warm colours and nice decorations make this a lovely home for a one sim.

The livingroom is left from the entrance and connects all other rooms. The bedroom is small but has a double bed, a side table and a dresser. The kitchen is very cosy and offers a dining table for up to three sims.
Even though this lot has no garden included there are a few flowers to the right and left side of the house. The house is nicely decorated with curtains or blinds in all rooms and has also a few flowers and wall art. A special extra of this house is the fire alarm in the kitchen.

The kitchen and livingroom is sparely furnished but good enough for a sim's first starter home. The „livingroom“ is rather a lounge area in the corner of the kitchen. There's no tv but a bookshelf. Behind the stairs is an extra lavatory for guests.
First Floor: bedroom, bathroom
The bedroom is made for a single sim. Beside the basic furnishings there's also a radio. The bathroom is spacious and provides a comfortable bath tub. The first floor can accessed by two stairs – an indoor staircase and another staircase which is at the outside of the house (left side) and leads from groundfloor to the first and second floor of the house.
Second Floor: roof terrace
The roof terrace is a place where your sim can have a rest and relax. This level provides a lounge chair and a sunshade. The roof terrace can only be accessed by an external staircase.
The garden in front of the main entrance is very small but has some flowers and a shrub. There's also an apple tree and the terrain paint makes this place look nicely. The interior of the house is simple but most rooms have some sort of decoration like curtains, wall art and/or potted plants.

In the backyard of the house is a big vegetable garden which provides most of the common base game vegetable plants. There are also some apple trees and lime trees and many flowers. This lot is for sure a good home for a sim with a „green thumb“.

The livingroom is left from the entrance. There's a tv, a radio and a guitar to entertain your sim. The kitchen is staight across the entrance and provides a dish washer instead of an ordinary kitchen sink. The bathroom is next to the kitchen and has a bathtub. The bedroom is small but has also a side table and a dresser.
The front garden of the house isn't big but has a park bench and is nicely landscaped with flowers and terrain paint. The house is also nicely decorated with pictures, curtains and flowers. A special extra is the burglar alarm, which is rather rare in a starter home, I believe.

The house is built on a foundation and the entrance is on the reverse side. Right behind the entrance on the left side is the kitchen with a dining corner for two. The livingroom is at the right side of that room and provides two armchairs, a small table, a tv and a bookshelf. The bedroom has no dresser, only a single bed and a side table. .
First Floor: roof terrace
The roof terrace can be accessed by an outside staircase. There your sim can enjoy the view, listen to the radio and have some rest at the fire pit.

In the big garage are currently no cars but two bicycle racks. One bicycle for adult sims is already placed there. Right next to the entrance of the garage leads a stair to the first floor of the house.
First Floor: livingroom, kitchen, lavatory
The living room is only a small area behind the main entrance. There's no tv but a bookshelf and a table with two armchairs where your sim can read the books. The kitchen is at the opposite site of the room and has a dining table for three sims. A small door next to the dining table leads to a small balcony. The kitchen is equipped with the basics but has also a dish washer. In a corner of the room, behind the staircase, is a small lavatory for guests.
Second Floor: bedroom, bathroom
The bedroom seems spacious and has a double bed, a side table and a dresser. The bathroom is small and has only a shower.
In front of the house is a lime tree and an apple tree, right and left from the footpath to the entrance.. At the sides are flowers and shrubs. The house has some wall art and plants in most rooms and almost all the windows have curtains or blinds.

The entrance hall is both the center and the biggest room of the house. It could be divided if an extra room was needed, e.g. for children or for a workspace. The livingroom is to the left and the kitchen is to the right side of the entrance hall. The house has a bathroom with shower and an extra lavatory for guests. The bedroom is spacious but has no dresser.
Opposite the main entrance of the house is a door that leads to the backyard. There your sim can sit on a park bench or harvest some vegetables. The garden is huge and there are not only a few flowers, shrubs and trees but also a swing. In front of the house your sim will also find two bicycle racks with two bicycles.
This is one of the first houses I built for Sims 3, however, before adding it to this upload I checked every part of the house and changed some of the patterns and/or furniture and added things like curtains or blinds. I think it's a nice little house on a big lot which is suitable for changes if changes should ever be necessary.

The kitchen and the livingroom have a door to the backyard. The furnishings are very simple but all rooms are nicely decorated with curtains, wall art and/or flowers.
This is another house I built a long time ago, however, I made some changes, checked everything and saved a new copy. It has a big garden with some flowers, shrubs and a cherry tree and has also a little pond in the backyard. There's also a vegetable garden but this one looks rather poor and some of the plants are about to dry up.

The livingroom is to the right and the kitchen is to the left side of the entrance and has a dining table for two sims.
First Floor: bedroom, bathroom, corridor
The dresser is placed to the left of the little corridor because the bedroom is too small for it. The bathroom has no window and only a shower instead of a bath tub.
Half-timbered houses remind me of my childhood so this is why I like to build houses like that. This one is a starter for a couple and has two bicycle racks but only one bicycle in front of the house. A few flowers and terrain paint makes the front garden look nicely.

I'd like to thank the moderator(s) who took the time to look at all the pictures and who gave valuable feedback and advice on how to improve the pictures. :lovestruc
I hope you'll enjoy my little starters. They're not meant to be in one neighborhood - they're too different in styles, I think. Anyway, thank you for your feedback.
