Do you wish there were more aspirations available, and are there any you can think of that you'd like to have seen included in the game? For me, a Creativity aspiration would've been really good. I played the Sims 2 Pets for PS2 which had both a knowledge and creativity aspiration. I know that knowledge sort of covers creativity with building creative skills, but for me knowledge seems more studious and into logic or mechanics, and creative sims are more into music and art, which is a very different type of knowledge. I think having a creativity aspiration would've helped differentiate between the two. Also a fame aspiration. I often use popularity for sims who want to be 'famous' or notorious, but it's not really the same as popularity sims want lots of real friends, not just to be known. What do you think? |

Fame would have been a good one, yes. Plus an opposing one - "infamy". Howabout - Saintlihood - when you achieve permanent platinum aspiration by doing so many altruistic acts of kindness? Or "Insanity" - to achieve this you need at least 20 visits from the Therapist. Can't think of any more at the moment as my brain is fried from real life decluttering. That's one thing I like about the Sims, it makes you realise how much clutter you have in your real life. |

Fame is already covered by the Popularity Aspiration, eg. Become Hall of Famer, Become Rock God, etc. As for infamy, well, I'd say Romance would have that covered with "Woohoo 20 Different Sims". That LTW may as well be called "Become The Town Bike". Maxis designed the aspirations to cover as much as possible without being too broad or requiring too many choices.I like the idea of a Kindness aspiration though. You could have LTWs like Start A Charitable Foundation or Give §500,000 To Needy Sims. Also, given the game references to llamas, there could be a Llama Aspiration with wants like Buy A Llama, Pet A Llama, Talk About Llamas etc. |

Instead of an Infamy, I'm pretty sure that would just be Fame aspiration failure? But I agree Fame is already covered with Popularity. I think they did good with aspirations. When I first saw this thread I remembered I wanted "Niceness" as an aspiration and I think "Kindness" and "Saintlihood" fit in with that. Maybe like Jo's "Insanity" idea, I want more "hidden" aspirations or just secondary aspiration. |

I would've liked to see a Kindness aspiration - would've been perfect for my mum is I ever made my family! Also, Llama would have been a perfect secondary aspiration - kind of like the Grilled Cheese one, but way way cooler :-D Again, would've come in handy if I made my family, but for me this time! :-D I always wanted an actual "Love" one, which could use the "Reach Golden Anniversary" LTW from family - you don't have to want kids to want to stay with your spouse! Nor do you have to want kids to think that having a significant other (one - not 20 - no romance sims here!) is the most important thing in life. |

What about "Evil" aspiration? LTW to have 20 enemies or something. Similar to the "jerk" persona in The Sims 3 for BlackBerry |

I would like some kind of aspiration that you could use with a serial killer character/challenge with out the Sim going into potential aspiration failure/neglect. :/ |

They could still have stuff like "talk about llamas" and "paint a llama". Or maybe a llama tv channel that Llama-loving sims always wanted to watch. And if they had've done it as an aspiration I expect they would've included more llama stuff in game. Maybe in Pets? Pet llamas would've been cool. And then a LTW could be "own 20 llamas during your lifetime" or "breed 20 baby llamas". Or one of the OFB robots could've been a llama! :-) It wouldn't work with the game as it is now, but if they'd added a llama aspiration the game wouldn't have been as it is now! :-D I'm sure they could've come up with something - they managed with Grilled Cheese after all! :-)

That's hilarious! "Breed 20 baby llamas"... I'm laughing so hard imagining Celandine or Jemma attempting to breed llamas. Although on a more serious note, I do think it would have made Pets WAY more worth it if they had added something like that. I doubt they could have a cool power like "Materializing Llamas" though (like they do with Grilled Cheese...) |

I wish "Family" wasn't so monofocused on reproduction. Half the time it's indistinguishable from Romance because the sim is so obsessed with making babies. I'd have liked wants like "become bffs with all family members" or even for "add a family member" coming up reasonably often, instead of always "have a baby". As it is my supposedly Family sims have a habit of ignoring their parents/siblings in favor of trying to knock someone up @_@ |

Wasn't there a hidden and unfinished Power aspiration tucked into the game files? I'd love to see how that would play out. Fame would have been nice, perhaps as a secondary aspiration: give you the nuance of a popularity Sim wanting to be famous just for being well and widely known, but you could have a notorious Romance Sim or a Knowledge Sim who makes important discoveries, perhaps. I've wondered about that, too. I figured it would be perfect for criminals, politicians, mad scientists, military types, vampires and witches. No, not ninjas, Hideo. They already have REAL ULTIMATE POWER!!!

From Simonut: Here is my take on if Sims 2 is losing popularity or not, If you offer or give a monkey a banana will he take it even if the banana is green or yellow ? Whatever new games EA put out there like the Sims3 some human somewhere will buy it. |

probably something along the lines of having fears that involve meeting people, I'd imagine. Maybe wants to order food instead of going out to buy it, and fears of gaining friends? It'd be an interesting way to play, but I could see it getting boring easily as sim interaction is really what makes the game for me.

I might be getting a little too deep on this one, but how about "Enlightenment?" This would be attainable only by a knowledge sim and would be a combination of maxing all skills in addition to learning all of the Bon Voyage greetings, dances, and special skills, graduating college, getting a gold badge in everything, reaching maximum interest in their predestined hobby, and maxing the good or neutral witch alignment abilities. It would be one heck of a feat to pull off or at the very least, an interesting challenge, but after all that one would have to be on some higher level of awareness. Just an idea, its pretty late and I'm getting rather punchy! |

Inciter Apartment Life gave sims the ability to influence others via influence points. I have no idea how one gathers these points but my sim has reached maximum points. Anyway, the aspiration would fall along the lines of break up x number of households, incite y number of fights, and cause z number of pets to reject their master. |

Stay Young: This aspiration is the antithesis of Grow Up. Stay Young only appears for Adults and Elders who either have had enough of the responsibilities of adulthood, or have not yet accepted the inevitability of death. Sims with this aspiration would do just about anything to stay young, whether it’s’ shirking responsibilities such their job or housework, or using any means to extend their lives such as the Elixirs of Life or Laganaphyllis Simnovorii (commonly known as the Cowplant). However the seekers of youth beware! If they shirk their responsibilities for too long they could lose those whom they hold dear! For those who temper with the sands of time an even worse fate should appear! For Death does not take kindly to those who temper with her realm, and no amount of pleading from their loved ones, assuming they haven’t left, will tame her righteous fire! Sims with the Stay Young aspiration are compatible with the ever playful Pleasure seekers and the ever lustful Romantics. However they must live with wagging fingers and displeased looks from the more Family and Knowledge oriented of their peers. They also must deal with the pursuers of Fortune who are only interested in profiting off them and using them to get ahead. If the Stay Young Sims wishes to enjoy their new found youth, or what’s left of it, then they need to look no further than their Popular peers. However they shouldn’t expect their affections to be returned. The more youthful populars tend to view the Stay Young Sims with disdain for being uncool and unhip, while the older populars find the Stay Young Sims to be too childish for their adult atmosphere. |

Quite difficult to imagine, seeing the Aspiration system doesn't work like TS3's trait system. I can't think of wants this aspiration may have that could actually be worth more than 500 asp points. Gothic/occult traits- wants involves seeing other people's deaths, seeing Grim reaper, ghosts and stuffs. LTW: See the Grim 20 times/ see the death of 20 different Sims. |

Emo/lonely is more like Aspiration Failure To have Emo aspiration:1.Use popularity 2.Red is new platinum! 3.You can replace Social Bunny with Gothic Bunny, or using SimWardrobe's thingy replace it as a cool demon or ghost or Invisible Edward Cullen. 4.When your Sim start to cry, talk to invisible friend, or going insane, you're successful! Happy platinum emo would be hardly emo, don't you think? I thought about custom aspirations too... Could use unfinished "Power" slot. It would be rather funny or challenging ones (change "Grilled Cheese" to "Heroine" and everything is clear ) than something like EA ones. Having neurotic (wash hands 7 times!) or schizophrenic (insult this CIA agent dressed as old lady!) wishes would be interesting and great for Asylum challenge."Creative" would have other flavor than "Popularity", like some artist rather live to create than create to live large. In practice, Popularity/Knowledge would do the same. "Enlightenment" sounds good, but it's like Knowledge/Popularity. EA aspirations are too flat- family person would rather want to care about their current children than make 20 of them, romantic person would rather make some nice frigid girl/guy fall in love with them than doing the largest possible amount of people regardless of them being mainly townies with face of a monster. (Sims doesn't notice ugliness and are never frigid, though). With EP packs and second aspiration it's little bit deeper, but I still always use Pleasure instead of Romance. |
