Wow thank you. It'll be great for my arty sims to be able to paint wherever they want.

Great idea. Really, it should have come with the game, I mean, if you can carry a piano in your pocket why not an easel?! Thanks x

Portable easels establish the period of impressionism for the sims.
It's a completely rational decision to get this object as a default replacement. Nobody can tell the reason why it didn't come with the game made by EA. Now only we have to wait for some sim creators and their versions of Manet, Monet, Gauguin and others in order to play this era.
Thank you for sharing this object!

How do non-player controlled sims treat it? Can they use it autonomously? And in case they can, do they put and take the easel correctly?

I don't think that npc can't use the easel autonomously (I mean, they can't drag the easel into inventory and put it out again because there is no interaction to do these).

That is a great thing for an artist - painting in the nature. Thank you very much for sharing.

This mod still works with latest patches, although I don't have OLS yet.

EA should have made it portable to begin with. Thanks so much.

I put the easel (with a painting on it) in my inventory and saved and quit, but now the easel is there and the painting is not . Was this just a glitch, or should I take the easel out of my inventory before quitting?

The painting didn't show up, but after puttting it in my home inventory and taking it out it was back :D

I never got this before, in my game the easel works fine, the easel and painting still there when I put in or out of sim's personal inventory. About the saved and quit question, I will try it later.

UPDATE: I've tried save and quit, my painting still on the easel when I drag out the easel, and my sim can still continue painting..

She could continue the painting even when it didn't show up, it might have been that I patched, and my game somehow unpatched or never completed patching, so it re-patched after I quit. Maybe the painting goes invisible when you patch? Or maybe it was a fluke... oh well, it probably won't happen again

EDIT: Town Life wouldn't affect this, would it?

I don't have Town Life Stuff / Patch 1.24 yet, so I can't confirm this yet, although I think that this mod should be compatible with all EP/SP/any patch.

You know, when I first got the game in 2010, I spent about an hour trying to figure out how to get my painter Sim to take his easel with him. I was really frustrated to realize it wasn't portable. You and alianpe did a really useful mod.

This is really useful. I would like to know how you did it so that I can make the telescope portable.
