My goal is to move all (except backup files) of the Sims 2, Sims 3 games (including saved custom content) to a new computer - which does not have internet connection. I have successfully installed all games on the new computer, but no old custom content or saved games. I had never downloaded any Sims 3 content until just this past few days. I noticed that all Sims 2 custom content files (in my Sims 2 Downloads folder) have been changed to TS3 Monkey helper packages. I want to be able to put them (via usb flash drive) into the new computer. I uninstalled monkey helper and Sims 3, and Sims 2 files still same. Here are my questions: Should I delete current custom content in Sims 2, and transfer files from backup downloads folder? Is it possible to download NEW files on the old computer and install them on the new computer - for both Sims 2 AND Sims 3? Should I keep 1 Sims 2 game installed (or re-install) to be able to download custom content?

The icon makes no difference. The files will still work just the same as before.

Oh Thank you soooo much!! I just didn't know, and didn't want to have to start all over for my young one to play! Can I download Sims 2 or Sims 3 files without having either GAME installed? If so, I will transfer files to new computer via usb flashdrive.

You don't need the game installed to download.
