I was wondering, since there are quite often new beginners in the sims 3 meshing - asking if there are accessory tutorials in this site, so is it possible for me to make one? I would include to the tutorial post beginner's accessory making and then a bit complicated version as well when it comes to accessories with morphstates. So Yes or no?

Sure, of course. Anyone can write a tutorial on any subject they like. You can either do it on the wiki (which is easier for the tutorial writer, IMO) or on a thread. When it's done, make a thread in Creator Issues (under the Create menu) with a link to it and we'll look it over - there's no real guidelines for tutorials, but we try to screen them a little bit just so we don't get a bunch of tutorials that, well... suck terribly. As long as it's helpful and good, we'll then link it up in the Create section.

Awesome, thankyou - we really need some good beginner tutorials for CAS stuff.

i would like to learn to make stuff myself for once, i'm finding CC for the sims 3 to be lacking. i just got the game, so i'm not that crazy about it right now (my main interest is learning the game) but i have just downloaded a few things, which i stumbled upon while trying to find something else that i wanted. how hard is it to do anyway? what if all you wanted to do was create a skin-tight garment like swimwear? am i going to have to learn programming to do this? |

It's not bad at all. The ridiculous number of different textures (and what they do) is the hardest bit to figure out, but that's just because of the information overload. You'll only need programming knowledge if you want to do script or core mods. |

"How hard is it?" is sort of difficult to answer and depends entirely on your individual skillset and mindset. Are you good with computers? Can you find your way around to any given folder without a flashlight and a map? Can you Google some basic keywords when you run into a problem? Do you know how to use an image editor like Photoshop or Gimp already? Are you a masochist who enjoys spending several hours staring at a cluster of pixels and pulling your hair out trying to figure out why they just won't work how you want? If the answer to all of the above is yes, then yeah, it'll probably be pretty easy. If the answer to any or all of the above is no, then probably best to leave it to the crazy people who actually enjoy doing foolish things like figuring out why the dang buttcrack is -still- off-center no matter what they do. No, you won't have to learn programming just to retexture a skintight garment. You'll need to learn how to use at least one new program (CTU or TSRW) and make some textures using an image editor. |

What sim could resist shakin' their booty at you? It think you're being utterly unreasonable! |

Well the least they could do is make sure it's a properly centered booty. Having the crack offset 2 sim-cm to the right is just distracting from the jigglin'. I demand ass-symmetry! |

i do know all of that, except i'm not totally sure i'd be willing to spend excessive amounts of time just to make one or two items of clothing i want. besides, for right now the few things i did download aren't showing up. no idea why. i just put them in the downloads folder like i did for sims 2. no matter, i'll figure it out sooner or later. |

Well, that's probably what ya did wrong, as just sticking stuff in Downloads doesn't work for TS3. Use the Help section for instructions on how to get your downloads for TS3 working. |

Only Sim3Pack files show up in the Launcher, not .package files. |

I got bit lost. I'm done with the turorial so I'll just make it now on a thread in Creator issues but what did you mean by these words "with a link to it" meaning that if I had made the tutorial on Wiki then I include link to it? Well since I wont use wiki I'll just write the whole tutorial with images on the thread and just post it in creator issues, therefore no linking to anywhere? Or...?

No, with a link to the thread. If the thread is in CI already, then there's no need for a link - people often post tutorials in the Create forums rather than CI, which is why we ask for a link.

Okay, I finnished the tutorial posted on the CI, so now I just wait if it's accepted? |

Well it's not really a question of acceptance - it's not like the mod queue - we just check that it makes some kind of sense and doesn't appear to be completely wrong. I'll go have a look. ![]() ETA: Moved. I'd suggest adding the images inline to make it easier to read - if you want to avoid slow/jumpy loading, you could use the infobutton tag to hide them, e.g.: [ infobutton=picture][ img]www.example.com/picture.jpg[/ img][/ infobutton] Creates: It's just a suggestion, though.

How does this infobutton tag work? since when I do this: [ infobutton=picture] type here the image link beetween [/ infobutton] it keeps showing the big picture and then the text of infobutton is just shown in the post, which isn't quite the result I want

Take out the spaces - they're just there so that vBB doesn't turn it into an actual infobutton tag, since then you wouldn't be able to see how the code looks.
