This is an abstract poem thingamabob that I wrote eons ago and just recently found. I thought it would be nice to share. It's not your typical type of poem so...yea. Enjoy? *hides behind rock to dodge incoming tomatoes*
It's called Funny Monkey _________________________ Monkey You make me laugh out loud Ha Ha While Im at work stocking foods and things Splat! I dropped something Manger comes and yell at me Spit flies here and there Everywhere Youre fired! Words ring thru my ears No job? What am I to do? Live in a alley or a highway Gas guzzlers go by ZOOOM! Hit whatever can't be seen in front view Watch out! Driving license came out of a cereal box Up I go In the air Carboard box house and all Oh Monkey, What have you done? Manager wants me to leave Please don't Frown appears on his forehead I need this job This job will do fine Scrub Scrub Wash Wash Whatever Fire me not! Monkey save me from this Suddenly Monkey sprang into action OW I really mean OW Thats got to hurt There goes an ear An eye A nose Somebody is going to the hospital Get down Monkey! Im already fired Remember the good times? When we were having fun Talking about oh ah And bananas Not understanding one bit But loving it truly Makin faces at babies As they go by Switching price tags Messing with old folks Just living the high life Oh well, No work No problems Walk through the sliding doors Forget this I'll get a new job Stoking foods and things Start over fresh Skip town Just you and me Monkey Laughing all the way _________________________ |

I get the sensation that the monkey is symbolic, rather like a part of his childhood zest for life. A bit of a struggle within himself to be responsible, but enjoy life. Like how many of us simply don't want to grow up! hee hee, Great ideas come to mind and memories of days of old. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem

wow I never really thought about it like that. Thank you. I've always thought of it as a Curious George type of thing, but even now that I think about, Curious George himself is already the embodiment of the childlike wonder wow deep lol

You're very welcome Miko. I guess that is one of the beautiful things about sharing your creative thoughts. What may seem insignificant to one may very well touch, or strike a string within another. And reading is absolutely wonderful. Allowing your own mind to create pictures, or recall emotions to embrace another persons thoughts. No one really knows how our own pattern of words will effect another person, without sharing them.

Alright! Good stuff. Sounds like something you'd hear in an old beatnik hangout. Get yourself a pair of bongos and you're good to go.
Oh my what compliment. Thank you!
