Hi guys! I have ventured into meshing clothes, and this thread will be where I post all of them for feedback.

Anyway, my current quest is to create a perfect Ellie Goulding sim. (I'm even thinking of creating a hair mesh lol) Hence this tank top is the first one. And it's a cool tank top too, methinks.

I have some trouble with it though. Currently, it's working fine under the Outfit category but whenever I switch it to the Top category, the bottom's texture will appear on it. :/ I've tried remapping the UV-map but that still happens. Anyone got any idea?

Anyways,

Two recolorable channels (the text and the rest of the top)

The game "reserves" space on the UV map for a certain clothing category (top, bottom, shoes...). You can't change that, unless you fit the whole texture of your top in a space between the neck and belly (where all of the games tops are mapped), it's a very small space for such nicely detailed clothing, so I suggest you just make it as a full body outfit with some matching leggins, pants or whatever you want.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. Well, I guess some leggings will have to do then.

Hey Dutch

I see you reinstalled your Sims 3. Nice to see you back in the game.

Your Ellie Goulding looks stunning, as usual.

I feel honoured, a Spanish magazine wants to feature my Desperate Housewives and Will Smith in their feature on celebrity sims.

Open up a UV map of a a bottom mesh and you'll see what areas it takes up, use the nude bottom for example. Use the waist line as a guide to where your UV should be at. Then don't forget to change the texture also. You might also want to just keep it a full body and use leggings as an accesory, like socks, I think Anubis just did something like this. http://anubis360.blogspot.com/2011/...skin-tight.html

Wow, what a beautiful piece... i want it in my game! But please, make it a dress (like anubis' clothes omegastarr linked), so everyone can match leggins they like =] I can't really give any technical tips, so I just wanted to say I'm loving this, as well as your Ellie =]

Thanks guys. Took the advice and decided to make a matching pair of leggings. Two recolorable channels, two variations. I based them off the same pair she wore in her Leave the Boy Alone photoshoot, although there were no photos that showed them in full. Let's just call this top/dress and the leggings a matching set.

In the photo of her she has the leopard print tights, but then the black leggings are not attached, they look like they sit on top of the tights. In yours they look flat, as though they are sown into the tights, i would add shading around the edge of them to make them seem like they sit forward of the tights, on top of them.

It's ok, we all laugh-snort occasionally!

@Deluxe Designs: Thanks. Will do that in the next update.
@adonispluto: Keepin' it up!

Here are two new shirts. Started off from a T-shirt Ellie wears in one of the pictures I have, then after a Google search, I learned that it's part of various Red Nose Day shirt designs by Vivienne Westwood. Humorous and classy designs too.

Both of them are new meshes. I made five design variations for each, but obviously there are way more designs and I don't plan to do them all. I'll make male versions too.

These look like lots of fun! Very unique styles!
The first outfit looks great, except for the black part of the tights. It's far too shiny and doesn't have enough fabric texture on it. It looks a bit too much like latex right now, but that can be easily fixed.
I think the black and white print T-shirts with red on them look just too distorted. It's mainly the two on the top right. The rest look alright, but still slightly off. I'm not quite sure how that would be fixed, although it's possible the source images were slightly distorted.

Overall, really nice and a style you almost never see on MTS. Can't wait to see them uploaded! :D

@WWW: the distortion is due to her bewbies :3 (I think irl she's not that well-endowed, but hey it's my sim >:3) Took note of the part about the tights. Will do that.
I also added another knee-length version to the tights. Screenshots soon. Also, right below is the male version of the Red Nose Day T-shirt. Only halfway there at best, since I haven't touched the mesh.

Updated tights:
-Non-leopard-textured area less glossy (cotton replaced rubber, basically)
-Soft shadows and emboss added to that area.
-Knee-length version added.

Not clothes, not a new mesh, just a few simple texture copy pastas. I did, however, painted these paintings of Ellie Goulding myself.

Also, question. Since I've just started making clothes and objects, will these be of acceptable standards to upload on MTS? :/ cuz I don't have a clue.

If they're recolorable and not blurry and stuff, they're fine. (as for the clothing)
I don't know about objects, but since you've painted them yourself (which I think is AMAZING!) I guess they're original and not just pictures put on paintings (which is not acceptable).
You can always read the guidelines to see if they're acceptable.

Alright. Thanks. If anything, I'll just play it safe and use those images of my paintings on a set of T-shirt.

Anyway, here's that updated male version of the Red Nose Day t-shirts. Basically just made it longer.

And a new piece of clothing. This is Alice By Temperley's Game Jacket. Ellie Goulding wears this one in her 'Guns & Horses' music video and lots of concerts, it's sort of become part of her image. New mesh, with 4 recolorable channel, meaning it'll be highly customizable to your own tastes.

Oh! Those paintings! I LOVE those paintings! They're probably one of my favorites of all your work. Watercolor FTW.
The male shirts seem to have the same streching issue as the female ones at the top. The model looks cool though. Very unique! It's hard to find attractive unique sims. (possibly totally not on topic >.>)
The leggings look great. All that's left to fix is a noticeable seam where the two sides meet. I don't know if it's possible to make the pattern match up, but the shading at least should be fixed up. Also, on the middle one, at the very top of the leggings, there's two tiny blue lines. One is thicker than the other. It would be cool if that was fixed.

The jacket mesh looks absolutely fantastic! There is a streching issue on this one too, mainly on the buttons and button holes on the jacket front. The sewn gold stripes on the very top (not the shoulders) seem to have some wiggly motioning going on.

Overall, these are all fantastic! The only real problem you have is with streching, and that's something even experienced meshers fight with. The jacket and pictures are my favorite. So pretty! <3

Thanks WWW You have an incredible eye for details. I'll make those changes asap.

Anyway, I was thinking and couldn't decide once I'm done with everything if I should bundle them all together in one pack and call it 'the Ultimate Ellie Goulding Companion!' (cheesy as hell, I know :3). Or should I try to release each piece separately, since bundling everything kind of cheapens the individual theme of each item. Your opinions, guys?

First of all, Hi!
Secondly, those clothes and paintings look amazing and I personally think they would be better in a bundle than separate. I agree with WWW about the jacket, there also seems to be a bit of a color mapping problem on the neck collar.

Great job, Dutch!

Thanks, divineone

Update, I've fixed the tights' texture the best I could, but there's still some shadowing due to the model itself, and I can't edit the model since there's no mesh for accessory leggings. Also, the jacket's texture has also been updated so that there's less wriggling going on on the front, and no more mapping fail at the back collar.

My only feedback is that regardless of any clothing or anything like that, your Ellie Goulding Sim is perfect. I instantly knew who it was and that's what you really want in a celebrity Sim, isn't it? The hairs are just right, too.
