Hi guys, I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place, this site really confuses me. Right so basically, I just installed The Sims 3, then I had to update so that I could install Generations, which I did. I did nothing else. I ran the game, to see if it was working, and I got the pop up message "Unofficial game modification does not match your current version of the sims 3." I can't remember it word from word, this happened last night. Now, the problem is, I've never downloaded any CC, AT ALL. This is a brand new laptop and I just wanted to get the game going before thinking of messing around with it. I've searched and searched but the people who have had this error have had CC at some point, but I've never had any CC touch this laptop. I have the option to quit or continue, and I continued as I have seen this message before on an older computer and it turned out to be nothing major, so I wanted to see how serious it was. I managed to create a sim, move them into a house, and then it crashed. Blue screen of death. I restarted, defragged, and then turned off my laptop. I really have no idea what is going on, how could there be any modification at all, let alone an unofficial one? Please help, I've been at this for days and I just want to play! |

Regarding the error message... is your game cracked or using a No-CD? Regarding the BSOD, can you please post up your system specs? The summary version is all we need, please: Game Help:System Specswiki |

Yes it is, I had the legit CD a long time ago and have since lost it. I'm actually going to buy it again in a few hours if this doesn't work - it just costs a lot of money I don't have to spend again, you know? ==System== Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.110408-1631) System Manufacturer: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. Well, that would be why you're getting that message. We do not support the use of cracks. Your computer is not suited to running the game. You have an integrated graphics card which is not supported and that's likely the reason for your crashing. Running the game on that system is a Very Bad Idea even if you -could- get it working. Normally I'd advise you re-buy the game so you don't have to use the crack, but in this case, unfortunately you can't play on that laptop. |
