I looked for this is the game booklet and online but nothing comes up that is very helpful in answering. But I just got Pets, have Nightlife, Uni, Seasons too. I saw there were dog parks in the community lot bin and I am wanting to have a sim take their dog with them but I am not finding how. Do you have to have OFB? I know they have Pet Salons in that exp. Does anyone know how to have a sim take a pet with them to a community lot? |

When you leave for a community lot, you get a list of sims you can take with you. The pets will be on this list. It is possible that pets are only included if you use the "walk to lot" option. I almost always walk to lots and seldom take pets, as few lots are set up for their needs, so I'm unsure about that. |

Wait, sorry how do you 'walk to lot?' I have never seen that option before. Also when I click the car and 'drive to community lot' it has the options 'sim only' 'multiple sims' and 'nevermind' It got the dog in the car only because everyone else was at work or school. No list came up. Was that BECAUSE all the other human sims were away? Or if I try that again while everyone is home will it bring a list or will everyone go? |

The 'walk to lot' was only put in Bon Voyage. Sorry about that-if you don't have that EP, you have to use a car to walk to the community lots with or without pets. |

Ok so I get that I cannot walk to lots because I don't have BV but still my question in my second post about taking them to lots stands. Quote:

'Walk to lot' came with apartment life, being able to pick and chose who goes came with bonvoyage. If you have a pre-bonvoyage expansion you'll just have to pick multiple sims to take a pet to a community lot. Everyone on the home lot will go though. |

Ok thanks for that answer. So I guess my final question on this issue is is there a mod or hack to just let one sim take their dog to the dog park without having to take the whole family? That's kind of wack of EAmaxis to put in a dog park if you have to take everyone and the dog to it. |

Ouch; I hadn't realized it took them so long to fix that annoying holdover from Sims1 - when you could only go to Old Towne lots if everybody was home and could go with you. Which meant I had to modify every community lot to have pet bowls and pet beds and stuff for the kids to do. I certainly hope there's a mod for that. You shouldn't have to buy a whole EP that you don't want (or that your machine can't handle) just to get simple functionality like that. Walking to Lot is wonderful, and picking and choosing who gets to go is essential to my long-term happiness. |

Not everyone has to be home. It only takes those that are home, but it'll take all of them. |

Since Nightlife, if you want to go to community lot using car, the only option is to go alone or bring all household members along. Bon Voyage added a new feature, which is "walk to lot" so Sims no longer needs car. Also, another feature is to let your Sim choose who else wants to go along, so you don't have to bring along the whole family members. And those features are carried forward to next EPs |

Note that you can't take puppies or kittens, just adult or older. |
