My cat went nuts, when he heard the cats meowing. He started meowing to the cat on the screen. Though when I got a noisy kitten he sniffed the screen then went about the house trying to find it.

My dog doesn't care about the other animals making sound, but the dog's squeaky bone drives him nuts! He can't figure out which one of his toys the sound is coming from.

When my sims kitty was meowing non-stop, my Dog literally jumped up from her bed and her head darted my way and she gave me this "WOT WOT WOT WOT IS DAT I HEAR IT KITTIES WHERE WHERE WOT IS IT WHERE?" look and then jumped onto the recliner and stared at my laptop for ten minutes. xD

My kitties responded to the cat noises for the first few minutes, but quickly figured out there was no cat there and started ignoring them.

Still, I was impressed that they responded at all. It's hard to fool em

My kitty was staring at my speakers whenever my sim's kitty was mewing. She never left her cushion to investigate though.

I'm surprised to hear you say they sound realistic, i thought otherwise.

Weird fact: They used a combination of real animal sounds and voice actors replicating animals sounds......

Which is retarded to me but whatever i usually listen to music while i play anyways.

My Ragdoll, Valentino, sat fascinated watching his doppelganger on the screen. When the thing meow'd, he pawed the screen then quickly grew bored, thereby demanding my attention. Again.

. . . because sometimes being a bitch is all a woman has to hang onto.

Topcat, my ginger tabby was flicking his ears and twitching in his sleep when I was playing about with the cat noises. He wasn't impressed.

I'm deaf IRL, but I have seven cats, so I utilize their ears. Usually there is a least one trying to take over my desk at any given time and sometimes their ears will swivel and they look at the screen. I'm not sure why I keep the sound on. Old habits and all, I guess.

They're smart though. They seemed to know it's not real and they kind of roll their eyes away from the screen and give me an incredibly patient look as if they know I am ultimately responsible.

I just give them an innocent look.

My dog, Remy, doesn't seem to care at all.

I think I'd have been more shocked if he had responded beyond a quizical look the first time he heard it. But he didn't even do that. He's so used to me watching animal movies and the fact he comes wiht me to work at the training center, which is right next to the college's animal unit - I think he's a bit habitualised to the sounds of all types of critters.

My dog is dumb as a post, but doesn't really react to the computer at all...because he's too busy barking at the noise of a barking dog...HIMSELF. Yes, the dog is basically functionally retarded and fails even the most basic "mirror tests", unable to distinguish the noise of himself from the noise of another dog. The entire thing is hilarious to watch. He attacked his own food bowl because he thought the reflected dog in the food bowl was trying to steal his food. Now that the bowl is too scuffed up from him attacking it to reflect, this no longer happens. I should repolish it.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.

Nah, he's funny that way. It's a major contrast from my previous other dog: That dog was as sharp as a tack. This one...well, he's a pretty solid example of how inbred that purebred dogs are.

My male dog allways reacts to other dog sounds reguardless of the sorce. I love him to bits but he's not as intellegent as my female dog. I can't tell if it the breed or the gender thats making the diffrence. joking of course its clearly the breed. She doesn't react much to the sounds but she does enjoy watching me play as her sim self.

My two (ex-)male cats responded very different to the sounds. Bobby, white and extremely clumsy, took a dive under the table ( and bumbed his head... ) when he heard a dog. Karel, grey and uber-macho, got very interested and in huntingmode when he heard the birds. And I now know that a cat can turn is head horizontal on its neck... And it looks so funny!

My Sim with zero musical talent started playing the guitar very badly, her Sim dog started howling along with her, my RL dog heard this mess and started howling too. If only my husband had been "playing" his guitar, we could have gone full circle

This is a very LOL thread! I should go and install Sims 3 Pets demo and then see what happens with my dog because she is abit dumb! Anyone yells, she will go outside even if we dont yell at her!

Sims 3 is good! And so is Sims 2 but not when you have the CD set and you have a 64-bit system! And using Windows 8 as well!

I agree; I was about to post the exact same thing--this is the funniest thread I've ever read. Pescado, I feel sorry for your pet, I really do! Attacking the food bowl--omg.

EA should hire the whole lot of you to be consumer representatives or something--this is the first positive/quirky feedback I've seen for Pets; I'm about to snap my disc in half because the patch broke practically everything. But you guys made the experience seem far more positive and put me back in a good mood--I was actually here on a Pets Broke My Game rampage and you all mellowed me out a lot by sharing your hilarious stories. ^-^ Thanks.

My cat is far too lazy to be intrigued and/or curious by the simulated pet sounds... he put a damper on my day. I was totally looking forward to seeing him spaz-out.
