A lot of my new friends and acquaintances who doesn't know me well seem to like assuming that I am an art/design student, which I am not; well alright, I am a student, but I'm taking Science course, not Arts or Design. So, anyway, I really don't know whether I should feel insulted that they don't think I look smart enough to study science, or be happy because art is my hobby after all...

Can't art students be smart too? I would take it as a compliment, not only of what ever you possess that makes you seem to have the intelligence and creativity associated with those who go into the arts, but also of the fact that you do not really appear to others as you are in reality. That last part makes you a bit mysterious

MsScribble Field Researcher Join Date: Sep 2010 Posts: 341	My mother's husband said something to me that was so low, so hurtfull and wrong I can't imagine why a half-decent person would say that to ANYONE let alone a family member. I literally don't know what to do. I've had my cry moment and my shut-down moment, and I don't know what to do know next. I think its time to vote him off the island and cut him out of my life, but that won't make a damn bit of difference to how I'm feeling and what that comment did to me. The only reason I don't ransack my medicine cabinet and end it all is because I'm so used to living with these kinds of attacks, but I don't like what they do to me, I carry it around all the time and it shows. If I could have my whole life memory wiped right now, I would. I just want to forget about it all.

Everyone is sickly sweet and polite to everyone, and the mods won't allow the teeniest bit of profanity. I had a harmless, sarcastic banter with someone else, and others thought we were having a flame war. Pointed out to a noob game developer that the face-sets they use for their game doesn't suit my taste, that person thinks I'm being extremely rude. I mean, what the hell? This is internet people, you can't expect someone to make review-like essays whenever you post a feedback, and we DO NOT converse with each other the way we speak to teachers and elders.

I scroll down to see pages and pages of comments that are essentially things people would say at a funeral. I've seen my fair share of "internet death" kind of hoaxes, but this really seemed genuine. His last post was in January, saying that he finally booked a professional gig. Jesus. I'm not sure this is a vent, but god damn.

LOL. I know how that is. Every little argument, whether there is actually ad hominem or not, gets referred to as 'flame wars' by somebody these days. It's just like the word 'troll'. I hardly see any real 'troll's and 'flamewar's these days. I mean perhaps I've just managed to not run into them, but I do know that what gets called these terms these days is nothing like what it used to be.

Did it matter that my TS2 lots averaged 1,178 downloads. Did it matter that I was a subscriber for 1.5 years and provided usefull information on the forums on a near dailly basis. No, no and No! Apparently what DID matter was that I found it offensive that they have been developing 'version 8' for "many, many months" and they, just last week, mentioned that they were getting rid of the Kudos system. This meant that the people who earned all those free days, slowly building the site up, were completely hosed and had virtually zero chance of ever redeeming their hard won free Kudos days. Without submissions, TSR would be just a dusty old, seldom used forum. And this is the way they treat the people that built the place? Unreal!!! To Thomas's partial credit (after much nad squeezing by me) he finally allowed people to use more than two Kudos days/month until 'Version 8' is fully emplemented. Unfortunately this cost me a ban and 15 free days there. If you've got some free days there, if you've ever submitted there, I suggest that you find out if they owe you a free day and USE IT. The clock starts now. TSR 'version 8' will be up and running in about 30 days. After that, your free days will be no good.

Okay, I take it back and try to boot up Master Suite Stuff and same shit, different configuration. Do the same, and then find out my basegame "isn't compatible" or something (aka patch levels don't align) so I reinstall the basegame. Should solve it, right? NOOOOOOOPE. Of course not. Region codes "don't match" because my new basegame copy isn't the same as my expansions. Now I can't play the bloody game without uninstalling and I really can't uninstall because most of my discs are either missing in my own home, in Australia or sold off. -bangs head on desk- To top that off, I'm so frustrated with my legacy that I could cry. WHERE ARE ALL THE RESPONSIBLE PARENTS. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO THAT TO YOUR DAUGHTER AND GO TO JAIL ACCORDING TO MY NEIGHBOURHOOD'S LAWS, JEFF . . . Huh. So TSR is banning users who doesn't agree with their new policies? People aren't allowed to have their own opinions now?

As for my own vent, it seems that I get sick really easily ever since I came back to my hometown. Must be the massive amount of pollution and dust.
