Somehow I accidently got a NPC into my control. I cannot figure out how I did it and not it won't go away. I don't want the witch in my control. And now my quest won't end! I completed everything and now I am stuck. What do I do? Help! The king isn't even under my control anymore and he was the hero. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Sounds like you shift+rightclicked on the witch and did the same to your monarch. With testingcheatsenabled, shift+rightclick will toggle npcs and heroes clicked to controlled or uncontrolled. For example, some npc walking by, you shift+rightclick on the npc and you can control that npc like a hero. Shift+rightclick on your active hero and that hero becomes unselectable. Find your monarch and shift+rightclick him or her and shift+rightclick on the witch and she'll be a normal npc again. Whether your quest is now irreversibly bugged or not though, I couldn't say. Do you have an earlier save you can load? If you don't already have it, I highly recommend you get Grim's Auto-save mod So when things like this mess up and you end up saving you've always got fairly recent backups to load up. Losing 15 minutes or so of progress is much more desirable than having to quit a quest and losing the questpoints.

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are awesome. I don't know if this is going to work yet but having an answer that explains this is so much help! Now if only I could figure out for to actually mod the game (outside of testingcheatenabled). Thank you! Happy New Year!

Look at the first thread in this forum, the how to mod instructions are there, nice and stickied at the top. And all the mods are linked here in the forum too... I suggest you click the Downloads filter and look through them to figure out which ones you want.

whatever quest problems you have, enabling testing cheats and pressing CTRL + CLICK on the objective box usually fixes it, and even if it doesn't it always lets you move on.
