My teenaged Sim Gavin had just come back home after he'd ran away for the first time. When I saw that he popped up on my lot only 2 days away from aging up, I got pretty excited--so happy that he came back in fact, that the first thing I did was have him call his girlfriend, Ashley, for a little making up for lost time. Before she arrived, Gavin was acting more frustrated than I had remembered. He was throwing mini tantrums over his beet-red aspiration (he'd hit rock bottom) and to my surprise, a few minutes after Ashley had arrived, he poked her! This seemed so completely random!

I don't get it, this has never happened to my Sims, before. They hadn't been cheating o each other, and every interaction they'd had up until he'd ran away from home was positive! Their relationship was at it's highest, too! I'm not sure if this was a side effect of his low aspiration meter or his zero-nice-point-grouchiness, but one thing's for sure, he was pissed! And it didn't stop at the poking. After he poked her, she cried, and Gavin's brother, Ren went up to him and shoved him.

They fought just like old times, oddly enough always after he kept fighting with Ashley, and curious to see if Gavin would be mean to Ashley again, I left them to themselves. He slapped her, shoved her, and even had the balls to try and attack her! I stopped his attack and checked their relationship panel, and their relationship was falling fast.

Soon enough, they fell out of love with each other and their crushes disappeared too. Ashley started rejecting most of Gavin's kisses and flirts (which were my last attempts at trying to save their relationship) but the crazy part was that she kept accepting his make outs and lesser kisses (tender kiss, peck)! She didn't like any flirt that he did but allowed a few kisses.

Eventually she started poking and fighting with him, too. I was about to to decide that enough was enough and make them break up, but he was just a few hours away from aging up. I had him grow up instead. But before that, I had him suck some aspiration points from Ashley to save his birthday from becoming a "Grew Up Badly" memory. But since he'd had a fear of him and Ash becoming enemies, this backfired. After he became an adult, he went into aspiration desperation.

Currently, they're still mad at each other, but I still have no idea what could have brought Gavin to act like that. The weird thing is, that after he'd throw a tantrum, he would go straight for Ashley to slap her, or poke her, and even attack her, as if he was trying to take out all of his anger on her. He's a popularity Sim, by the way.

My male Sims are...Simulicious!

Wow, that's a crazy story! I would take the time to hunt through both their memories to check for anything off. It seems so strange that he would just become so aggressive for no apparent reason.

I wanna play my Sims all night, and play em everyday...
<- Currently Simless.
Have you ever noticed that the letters f, o, and r are next to the letters d, i, and e respectively. So if you're not careful whenever you are typing the word 'for' you run the risk of typing 'die' instead.

It's a direct result of aspiration failure. When my Ginger Newson was going red right before aging to adult, and refusing to roll wants I could fulfill, she was popping up everywhere picking fights with people. She fought with Georgia (who to be fair sassed her a lot as a teen, and would cut school if I wasn't right on top of her - the entire Newson family was in bad shape at the time, except for Gavin, who went to college while Ginger sacrificed herself to stay home) and even tried to attack Cooper Hawkins when he went out of his way to be nice to her. He, bless him, just stood there and took it, and the next time they met acted like nothing at happened.

I took her on a walk around the neighborhood until she finally rolled a want I could fill. I got her a cat, she went platinum, aged up well, and eventually married Cooper, who has made her very happy; but all that early trauma did scar her and she's still a little fragile.

Think about it. If you're miserable, you go out of your way to make other people miserable; your judgement is terrible; and you do things you know you'll regret if you live long enough. It's just the same with sims. It's worst with grouchy ones, of course, but even nice sims can behave badly if they're unhappy enough.

All you can do is the best you can do.
(My most recent book is Sullivan, That Summer. In case you care.)

Crazy. My sims just did that at a Wedding Party. I couldn't control them - they were guest! Their friends invited someone from their college days - who is stuck being a college student! She flirted with the soon-to-be groom and BAM! Instant fighting with the engaged couple. I was mad! I am never inviting past lovers to weddings anymore!

true love is sim love :)

And I bet other sims were cheering them on to fight, like they like to do

Wow that is really crazy. I don't know how that could've started. I have a sim who ended up abusing his daughter, I was able to track down why. His daughter had just started dating a man who had been in love with the father's slutty cousin. The father saw his daughter and this man on a date downtown and he immediately got furious. Instead of being angry with the man, he was angry with his daughter. While on the date I rejected all the father's potential interactions with the daughter, she was on a date that was going great, I didn't want that spoiled - but at that time I didn't know he was trying to hit her. When she came home one day from college for her little brother's birthday her father met her outside and shoved and slapped her several times. His hate for her was completely unwarranted. She and the man she went on a date with and eventually married were always faithful to each other, but the father never stopped randomly slapping his daughter when I wasn't paying attention to the two of them.
