I hope I can post this information here. If you aren't aware of it, today on TS3 your Mypage will be changing to the new "Showtime" Facebook Wall/type page.

This new Mypage will include your Origin ID as these two accounts( TS3 page and Origin ID are being joined.) This could be a problem for those that use their real name as their Origin ID. It is advised you should change that ID in Origin before the maintenance is done today for the TS3 site.

It doesn't matter if you use your TS3 site page or not. The new Mypage will show your Origin ID, too if you have ever ordered a game from EA.com or through Origin. Some use their real name and residence, please change that before maintenance is completed for the new page if you don't want anyone to see your real name and residence from your Origin/EA.com Account.

I forgot all about their maintenance today. Luckily I am ok with my I.D. Hopefully those who haven't taken care of it will heed your advice.

Thanks, they were starting some maintenance yesterday weren't they? And isn't our Origin ID suppose to be private? Sims 3 site should be on around 8pm

Well... they published it once before and the community went ballistic over that slight indiscretion so they issued an apology and took it off all of the player's MyPage. I guess they're doing it again. My Origin and EA/Sims 3 ID are the same so I'm not worried about it but I do take exception to them issuing it. I think I'll go make sure that ID is private in both Origin and the official site ... again.

Yeah, I made it private at Origins, but will do it again if the My Page shows my information from Origins. Seems like whatever I do will still make me available. I hate this SHT! :D

Still thinking...

Another good idea would be to take screenshots of your simpoints if you have any. I have 3,500 simpoints and knowing EA they will "conviently" vanish. So Yeah, getting pretty paranoid.

I didn't have an Origin id but they made me sign up for one before I could log into the Sims 3 site today. I made it the same as my EA forum name and then set the MY Page to private. I'm not planning to use the simport feature and I've never used the My Page thing anyway. I've always backed up my sims and lots on my own computer, I don't create anything worth sharing.

My sim points were all still there, but the $20 bundle is no more. It's now $10 or $40.

I can't find the privacy settings for the MyPage.

Edit, found it: http://mypage.thesims3.com/privacySettings.html

Yep. And I had a million things on mine when I got there. I hid every post, and then set my privacy setting to private. I am not sure if I will still see activity by other users with this setting.

How do ya hide the posts? I didn't see that in there. EDIT: Found it!

I just discovered that adblock on chrome can make the "recent activity" drivel disappear. I now have a filter that looks like this:

Well, in the update EA apparently accidentally deleted my account. Considering I had zero points on it...I suppose that's one way to keep my origin id private.

Holy crap!

(I am trying to get them on live chat right now about another issue, but the last dude just "hung" up on me before I could even type. Busy night for them, I guess.)

I can't log in to my TS3 page anymore, heh... rejected my login, so I did the password change thing, and it STILL rejects it Wonder if my TS3 login got screwed up by other activity on Origin (SWTOR, KoA).

Ah well, will get it sorted out when (if ever) I actually want to access that site :p

Srikandi, check if your page still exists. That's how I first noticed mine was gone. It still accepts the "send you an email to change your password" but the account doesn't seem to publicly exist.

God I hate this update. Since being forced to link my origin account, none of my game codes will register and I am unable to download anything. Is anyone else experiencing this problem and have you found any way around it?

I know that people lost friends and their previous posts disappeared but losing an entire account?! The pages area copy of FB without the filters to make it manageable. You can hide and delete posts though but they didn't make it very obvious how to do so. You need to hover over the post to find an "x". They also were "smart" enough to implement it with all the settings set to public. So if for any reason you're not around for a week or more you're likely to return to find your my page full of spam and trolls.

Now, this is getting really upsetting. I don't want to register with Origin in the first place; and secondly, as a German customer, they won't even let me complete this (forcible!) registration unless I accept info e-mails by EA, because otherwise, allegedly they cannot send me the confirmation e-mail. I mean - anybody still in there?!?! It is a confirmation e-mail! Of course you can send it! Being a German jurist, I should definitely know ... This is nothing but a really disgusting trick to fish mail addresses for sending ads! Icannot believe what they're doing over there right now. If they don't cancel these changes asap, I'm gonna log in for the last time, spend the rest of my Simpoints and then delete the account for good. Seriously, thy must be kidding!

Make a new email that's "tiiniispam@___" or whatever, register, get the confirmation link, and then never use the email again.

Your password on thesims3.com is the same as on swtor because of this Origin nonsense. I went through the same thing when I had to update my swtor password.

Took you long enough... my blood pressure skyrocketed with the announcement of SHT and all the /heavy sarcasm wonderful social stuff they've included in it that would make us so excited we'd pre-order it...... NOT!! /end heavy sarcasm

Just got back from the official site and made MyPage friends only. I got a headache with all the stuff all over the place... grrr. Yes they made it like FB and much less manageable.. like all things EA.. it's not user friendly.
