Maybe I shouldn't say not loading, but I don't have the patience to watch the load bar crawl for a couple hours. The music while loading is choppy/intermitant. It is a fresh install of Sims 3 on a fresh install of Win7 64-bit, there is NO CC installed yet. The addons installed are WA, Nightlife, HELS, and Ambitions. All patched and up to date. To paint a picture of how slow, I changed the laundry, took a shower, dressed, ate lunch and came back to the computer, and the bar had moved about an inch.

I posted this same question to the EA Sims 3 site, but it got so lost in the flood of posts I'm sure it will go unanswered for some time.

"All patched up and up-to-date" is different in these few days as I can't be sure if you had seen the last 1.31 updates, and I never assume this things...
So, please state : what version number are you on? Game Help:Patch_Table^wiki

And "fresh install" means this is the first time installing on this machine or an Uninstall was done prior?
If uninstalled before and then this issue occur after the reinstall, you did a FULL uninstall as per our guide : Game Help:TS3 Uninstall^wiki? Inclusive of registry and leftover folders cleanup (if applicable)?
The loading bar stalls on the first loading screen, haven't even got to the "choose a world" selection screen? Can you run Process Monitor as linked from Game_Help:TS3_Load_Issues#Long_loading_times^wiki

The Nvidia graphics drivers is also outdated, download the latest from http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-w...hql-driver.html

You may also want to visit Creative's Support site to download the latest drivers for your soundcard - I got lost in locating the exact model - there appears to be a few variations of the "SB X-Fi", so I don't want to give the wrong link.
