I'm glad you guys have enjoyed the challenge! Thanks for the input also, and I might make a Hardmode version for those of you who are interested, but I'll have to test one out first to find a balance. And the reason it seems like there isn't much to do with the parent is because the storyline to the challenge, building a new life, is focusing on the hard upbringing of the child,. So you COULD do something with the parent, but they're kinda the "bad guy" in the scenario. |

Jessie and Morlunda Pinprek despise each other, yet have to put up with each other and the rest of Barnacle Bay. Strange how they ended up there, actually. Morlunda decided one day to take a holiday, a break from Sunset Valley. Jessie did not want to go, but had no other choice unless she wanted to starve. Not that Morlunda gave her much food anyway. Morlunda, being stupid and forgetful, forgot to get return tickets and spent all their money on herself so they only had 50 simoleons left. Now they own a small space of land full of wildlife, where they have to live. Together. Poor Jessie- she has to live her life with this goon Morlunda. Once Jessie was older, she wanted to kick the hag out and give the place a make-over, so she could live there with her family. |

Completed the challenge last night! Paige Knox was ignored by her father all her life...(I don't think they had any interaction more than once) He stayed at the firehouse and played video games all day, while Paige had to 'steal' from the gym to eat or stay at a friend's. In her high school years, Paige thrived, making friends, getting A's AND having a job all at the same time. At some point her father died, probably from a heart attack, since he was quite overweight and did nothing but played video games and watched TV. She carried on, not bothered for more than a few days... At Prom she went with her good friend, Mortimer Goth and while dancing he asked her to be his girlfriend. After graduation, Paige began to build a beautiful, sunny-yellow beach house, got engaged to Mortimer and got promoted to the top of the Spa career. She also grew a gorgeous garden and became an avid fisher-woman. Finally, becoming a full adult, she married Mortimer and she became a successful Scientist, while Mortimer stayed home and painted and wrote novels based on the Goth family. Lots of fun, thanks |

My sim is near becoming an young adult so I'd like to ask if it's okay to move them with their home lot in another town (for story-telling purposes)? Thanks in advance.

So I got completely sidetracked from this for months. I've been doing it as a blog storytelling exercise, so it takes longer to put each episode together than it does to play it! Anyway, I just got supernatural, I haven't tried playing this game yet, but my test game has zombies popping out of my lawn day and night! I considered putting a fence around the bench and locking it, but my sims get up to freak out about zombies even though they are in a house! Has anybody got a workaround for this, mod or otherwise? I'd love to get back to playing this |

I've been playing supernatural for a while and although the zombies are only supposed to come out on the full moon, there is a glitch that makes them come all the time! Because of that, I am going to play with a fence around my child's garden, as soon as she can save up the money to buy one! |

I absolutely love this challenge! I'm part-way through my own attempt. I made (any Thor/Marvel fans out there?) a son called Loki with Laufey as his evil, somewhat-insane Jotun (frost giant-y) father who has a penchant for chaos, much like Loki. Loki literally only just aged up into a YA about 5 minutes ago, with only a sleeping bag and a firepit to his name. This next stage should be interesting...

Just tried this the other day! I had a little girl and her meanie dad. It was interesting but not that hard. The only difficult thing I guess would be the town I picked. I moved them to a lot in Bridgeport. The little girl couldn't enter the gym so i had to build a pool lot and put a shower and a fridge on it. I had to edit the gym for the father. It didnt have a kitchen so i put a fridge and a table in there for him. I would send him there a lot. He also worked at the graveyard. I bought them a sleeping bag while she was still a child. They took turns on it. And I deleted a couple of weeds a day, because I felt like I had put way too much on the lot to even make room for the begining of house. I moved the weeds into the family inventory. I kinda let the father starve to death. So she was a teenager when he died. But she grew up soon after. I decided to sell some of the weeds and pretend it was an "inheritance". Kinda like he had some money hidden from her. I know at one point he was in town and spent like 40 something simoleons on an olive platter. So i can pretend he had money somewhere. I still have her but I don't know if I'll play her again. Haha. The other problem I had was her mood. She always had something wrong with her. But this is a very quick and easy challenge. I liked it!
