The India inspired set is gorgeous. But I think I'll pass for now, need my savings for Silent Hill:DP.

So what do you guys think about Store Stuff and Stuff Packs? Which one is really worth the money? Should they stop making SP or the other way around?

I think that some of the sets on the store are way better than the ones you get in the stuff packs, like that Indian set

However I only buy stuff packs because they can be had very cheap after a while, and points will keep their currency. I don't buy from the store out of principle.
I could maybe stretch to £2-3 for a set, but not more than that. £6ish for 1000 points and that set is 1500? (And even on sale!). So you would have to fork out maybe £12. I just got all the stuff packs with the most expensive one being £3...Paid a total of £9 for them all.

I just wish they could put a bit more stuff and lower the prices on them from the beginning. It's much better having it on disc/in a single download.

TS3 aliens? Finally! - Now give us OFB businesses and proper apartments already, damnit!

So... it's a stuff pack that costs more than the others and contains a few candy themed furniture items that have no function and causes headaches just by looking at them? Jeez, EA, don't direct all your creativity to one place, please save some for the next stuff pack consisting of seating made from boxes of thawing frozen vegetables.

As others have said, if this CP had items you could eat (including the build mode and furniture), that might've been cool. (So you could do a Sims version of Hansel and Gretal.) They could even eat until they got sick... It could've been funny.

Not that I would've bought it even then, but at least all the food-themed stuff would serve some purpose. But as it is...

BTW... you could do a recolor of the cookie beret... turn it into a PIZZA beret!

You know... if this SP is supposed to be targeted to the 12 - 17 demo... why aren't ANY of the new clothes for kids and teens just YA? I'm completed confused now.

I completely agree with one poster that said EA should have included this in the KP Edition of SHT. So.. in essence, this SP is SHT 2.0... just as SHT is LN 2.0... did I get that right?

Seeing that screenshot made me want to go and eat something . . . manly.

And I ain't even a man.

o_o

In all seriousness, I think that as a forum, all those who dislike it should collectively agree to pretend it never happened.

It does kinda sound like a porno, doesn't it?

Having a sex tape "leaked" is so last decade, now you need to have a lousy stuff pack released with your name on it to get anywhere in life.

No!
The ONLY thing that I may have any interest in this pack would be the fireworks and I don't even use the WA ones enough to even know if the explosion animations are new or not.

So what did we learn from this trailer?

1) The KP Sweet Whatever CP is real. Even though it seems like a horrible, horrible April Fool's joke...

2) Apparently KP has way more money than sense, if she wants to have real-life furniture pieces made, based on the crap in this crap pack...

3) Was KP dropped on her head a lot as a child? Because that's the only reason I can come up with for an adult person to be as fascinated as she is with candy-themed stuff...

Final observation: how can those of us of a more rational bent separate Ms Perry from some of her money...? Who wants to make her a banana split couch? I can do it in miniature -- will that get me some of her sweet, sweet cash...?

Went to official forums - and what did I learn:
There are plenty of people ready to pay for this, beacuse you can build a fake!! ice cream shop. It's a dream come true!
There are also people who want a separate candyland world to buy when the SP comes out. So, they've got so used to the store that it doesn't even come to their mind to build it themselves or download a CC version (because CC blows computers up and is generally harmful and vicious thing, you know).

Because last time I checked KP is a real person... Willy Wonka is not.

I wasn't referring to whether players would want candy-themed items in their game; if they do, that's fine. It's not my cup of tea, but why should I care that much if other players' tastes aren't the same as my own? I've said as much in other posts in this thread.

My remark was about how KP -- a real person -- would want actual candy-themed furniture in her actual home. Which is what she said in the video.

I can certainly see why some players might enjoy playing in a fictional candy-land world. I CANNOT understand why an actual person would want to live in a house filled with candy-themed furniture based on items from an EA game. That's just a little potty...

I am very upset I never complained about a stuff pack before... but this was just a smack in the face to all the hardcore sim fans... Did they run out of ideas or something. I dont think I would buy this pack for 5 dollars... This is the first SP I am not getting... even if its a buy one get one free lol...

Isn't there an old saying? "A fool and their money are quick to part ways..." or something of the sort.

There are people who will buy anything, despite all logic, reason, or common sense. Look at eBay or Craig's List for examples.

"Slightly used mattress...blood and urine stains are less noticeable if you flip the mattress over. Only $20!!!"

I don't mind if you call me "MSD" or something for short.
Perhaps someday I'll have leisure time back...

I wasn't being serious, lol, but you said "an adult" not a specifically real or fictional. First thing came to my mind, Willy Wonka, and sadly their are people like him and KP. Not sure who they are but they're out there.

Referring to this SP on the other hand, ridiculous.

Yes, but even I would say that if EA were paying me a lot of money!

Correct me if I'm wrong but... I'm getting the sense that most people find this upcoming SP insanely ridiculous and are not thinking of buying it. I know I'm not. So... why are we still talking about it?

You obviously don't understand how 3D modeling works. It can take that long just to model these shitty items and get them functional in-game.

No way in the world would I waste my money on this junk.

Katy isn't crazy, I think this SP is more EA's interpretation of Katy from her performances. Her real house is actually tastefully decorated and she looks pretty a lot of the time.

I was pretty against this idea at first, but then I looked through the past TS3 SP's and stopped caring. I wasn't really against the SP so much as I was against the direction TS3 was heading with this. But whatever. For as long as in the game I can dump Katy Perry and replace her with my deranged kid-hating Willy Wonka, I'm good to go. I always wanted to create that chocolate factory atmosphere...but not play it. So maybe it's not worth it. I don't know. But I do know that what few "vital" and basic pieces of clothing that ships with it will haunt me until I end up purchasing the entire pack...
Someone will make a mod to hide all the other ridiculous candy clothing, right? At least, from normal gameplay... I hate junk clothing taking up so much scrolling time.
