Career: I'll have to admit that I haven't played anywhere close to every career, but of the ones I have tried I liked the ghostbuster career (Yes, it can be a bit monotonous, but it really fits some of my wackier sims and I love collecting the different types of ghosts.) and the bartender (It's a lot of fun to be where the party is all night, there are lot of fun types of drinks to mix and again it really fits some of my sims.)

Skill: I love gardening! I love all of the different plants one can grow. I love nurturing the plants from unknown seeds to perfect full grown plants. It's just a really rewarding skill for me and my sims. Cooking is a close second and of course goes hand in hand with gardening. I love that recipes now use specific ingredients and I love the huge selection of recipes in the game. And again once my sim can make the best of the best from the best produce in the garden it is a really rewarding feeling.

Object: I notice mine all tend to be focused on kid sims, but I think they have the funnest objects. I also notice that all of my favorites were objects I wanted for the Sims 2, but didn't get so I was so happy to get them in the Sims 3. I like the bunkbeds...SUCH a space saver! I also think the trampoline is a lot of fun and no backyard with kids is complete without one. And my favorite is the sandbox. This is something I wanted so bad in the Sims 2! I am really happy to have it now. My only complaint is I really wish the toddlers could use it...just to dig around like a toddler would do.

Lifestate: For me it's the same as it was in the Sims2. Vampires all the way! In fact in the Sims 3, vampires are the only lifestate I'll play with though if witches are coming those will definitely get some playtime in my game too! I really wish you could toggle vampires off though. Not because I don't love them (because I do), but I hate it when really unlikely sims get turned into vampires (like the mother of the Bunch family). Drives me crazy! As for good things about vampires, I love how they look now and how they have to feed on blood and human food makes them sick. I hated how they would live off of mac and cheese like any other sim in the Sims 2.

Favorite Sims 2 object that isn't in the Sims 3 yet: Oh! The violin! I was ridiculously in love with this object in the Sims 2. My vampires and the violin were never separated in my games once we got one. I also miss the pool slide with all of my heart! No rich sims pool or community pool is complete without one. I really am neutral about the diving board, but I'll squee my squeer dry when the pool slide comes. And here is an object that I am surprised that I miss so much. I really miss the junk car that sims could rebuild. I loved that it was cheap and gave sims something to do in their freetime. And once it was finished it was a really cool car that gave a sense of accomplishment. I also loved how you could choose the color too. All of my teen sims were given one on their birthdays.

What are your favorites?

Career is something that we do regularly to make money. So, my favorite : Accumulating Lifetime Happiness Points, buy the Inheritance, instant +- §30,000~

Skill : DJ-ing

Object : Minus One Kelvin Refrigerator (or whatever, forget the name).

Lifestate : Imaginary Friends. They're creepy as hell.. O.o

Favorite Sims 2 object that isn't in the Sims 3 yet : can you change "object" into "things"? Coz my favorite is the ability to own business.

Hey there! :)

Career: I'm a sucker for the daycare career. I love kids in real life so I have a soft spot for sim kids as well. They can be total brats but then they do something cute and all is right.

Skill: I can't think of any skills off the top of my head. I've only played it once since getting TS2 in October. The only thing that comes to mind is the photography skill from WA.

Object: The strollers or the spring riders. Ooh, or the costume trunk. I forgot about that. Like I said, I'm a sucker for sim kids.

Life State: Vampires. Servos annoy me and ghosts are funny for a while, but then they get old. I miss the aliens from TS2 though.

Favorite Sims 2 Object: I'm going to have to say babies from TS2. So much cuter than the creepy pupa in TS3. If I understand correctly, they actually are considered to be an object rather than a sim when it comes to default replacements for their diapers. I could be totally wrong in that interpretation though. Wouldn't be the first time.

Say no to bug babies.

Career: Ghost Buster or Self Employed Something. When you're a ghost buster you don't need to write reports or question people, you just go to houses and suck some ghosts up, and then at the end of the night, you can sell those ghosts for 40-1,000 simoleons. It gets hard when you have to start dealing with ghostly presences - I had to go to the Landgraab mansion and go through every room to try to find one until I gave up. And Self Employed just cause you can go at your own pace and still be around your family and be making money.

Skill: Writing or gardening ^.^ Writing cause it's really easy, just sit your sim in front of a computer or with the hacked notepad and you'll have a novel in about a day. Handiness cause I hate when my sim takes all day just cleaning the bathroom, so I can make my toilets self cleaning and the washing machine can make clothes cleaner to have a better moodlet and the stove makes food taste better.

Objects: The trampoline, just cause I love trampolines and bouncy houses or pretty much anything that bounces me. Although I hate when it messes up and my sim kids' feet go right through the trampoline so there's a trampoline right in the middle of your sim.

Lifestate: I don't really play supernatural sims all that much cause I just got LN and I really haven't gotten the hang of vampires.

TS2 object: The bowling lanes. It was so cute watching them jump up whenever they knocked all the pins down.

tv taught me how to feel, now real life has no appeal

Career:
Nursery worker is cool. I love that it takes a bit to do compared to some of the other professions. I also like the writer career.

Skill:
Photography. I love taking pictures and decorate the sims houses with them. Also gardening because it seems rewarding.

Object:
Not sure. The dressing up trunk is fun. I like a lot of the kids stuff introduced in generations, like the sandbox. Also I'm superglad the chemistry table is back. It just does not seem so exciting this time for some reason tho.

Life state:
Don't play supernatural sims. If aliens were in the game then I would play them!

TS2 object:
Diving board and water slide!

TS3 aliens? Finally! - Now give us OFB businesses and proper apartments already, damnit!

Career:
Stylist, interior designer, all those self-employed careers. They give freedom. And, i'm self-employed IRL, so I do know its advantages

Skill:
Photography, painting, handiness. The first two because I'm a creative person and i like to make creative sims, and the last one because it allows to upgrade appliances. Very useful.

Object:
Here belong many objects that came with Showtime: pooltable, DJ booth, caraoke.

Life state:

Normal sims. I am not than interested in supernatural, though I like to have a few vampires in the game. As for simbots, I have a guy who is close to making one, but the simbot won't be considered a sims in my game. I'll treat him as a superclever machine that guy made for doing all the chores, and some other functions. That's what the robots should be made for for, after all.

TS2 object:
Many objects I missed, came with showtime, but I'd also like to have a makeover chair from TS2, a NORMAL makeover chair fro getting makeup and hair done. this would let me make normal salons. However, I mostly miss not objects, but functions, like business, weather, and university.

Career:: Probably the writer career, though, sometimes I just like to send my sims off to work and forget about them so I can focus on someone else.

Skill: I don't think I've had a sim max out a skill yet! Though I am really enjoying the guitar skill lately. I like the music they play.

Object: This is a hard one. I think I really like all the clutter that ends up in misc decor. I like my sim houses to look lived in!

Life State: I've not really played any life states other than humans.

TS2 Object: The sewing machines (for my grannies) and the flower arrangement thing. I liked having things to make.

Career: Fantabuously wealthy...oh, wait. I like the skill based self-employed such as inventor, painter, sculptor, etc. I don't care so much for writer because it feels like watching the grass dry, or paint grow.

Skill: I see them as simply a means to an end, so I guess I just go with whatever seems to most benefit a particular sim in a particular circumstance.

Object: Hubby. You do the math.

Life State: I am only interested in normal sims and am not interested in the supernatural stuff.

TS2 Object: Don't recall, so I'm drawing a blank here. Or, I would draw a blank, except I haven't gained any points in the Graphics skill.

Skill: Logic and Charisma.
Object: the computer and laptop.
Lifestate: just normal sims so far. I might make a vampire some day. vampires are great. already play vtm:b too.
TS2 object: that globe thing or whatever it is called, which was added with nightlife.

Career: I like detective, ghost buster (I always hum the ghost buster's song when I play as a GB) or a Singer
Skill: Anything creative or musical, so art, guitar, sculpting, piano, bass, etc.
Object: Once again, anything creative.
Lifestate: Either a Vampire or Simbot
TS2 object: I haven't played the sims 2, but I have to agree with dream_operator23. I like the violin, and have always felt like I was missing out when my mother pulled me out of violin lessons.

Career ~ Mostly I play self-employed careers like writer, painter, sculpter etc. My favourite of the pre-made careers is the private detective. I like the variety of it. Go to work, don't go to work, go shuffle papers at the police station for a bit, write a report, dig through some garbage. I like the decorator career too.

Skill~ I love all of them. That's mostly what my Sims do with their time. I love collecting things too.

Object ~ I love that sculpting station, or the easel. I love seeing what they come up with.

Lifestate ~ I can't say that I've ever played one. I don't dislike them, I just never get around to them.

Sims2 object ~ Any of the crafting things, pottery wheel, sewing machine, flower arrangement thingy. I still miss the canning station, spinning wheel and bee-keeping from Sims 1.

Career ~ I'm a sucker for the Medical Career Track, probably because I want to be a RN in real life Everytime I make a sim family, one of them have to be in the medical field.
Skill ~ I used to be obsessed with Gardening, because I just loved having a massive garden and watching my sim water the flowers and pull weeds, now I more so focus on the logic skill so that I can make potions.
Object ~ I absolutely love the strollers!! I wanted these so bad, and was just waiting and even thinking of trying to create a mod and mesh for it myself, but at last (and thankfully) EA made it before I borked it!
Lifestate~ I love the Vampires!! My sister plays TS2 and I always complained about how bad I wished we would get Vamps in TS3.
Sims2Object ~ The changing table. Its just about the only item I really know from TS2 since I've never played it. I've only watched my sister play it. Oh and the weather stuff, like the snowsim, I think thats what it's called.

Career: Ghostbusting because I like collecting the ghosts, buying a really spooky house and having a big graveyard. I like the showtime careers too but you can only have like one gig a week unless you pester the proprieters all the time.

Skill: collecting! I looove collecting, I get a huge satsifaction when I have the entire collection. This is also why WA is my favourite expansion.

Object: Piano, I did a little jig the day it was put back in the Sims, also the collector showcase thing so I can do transfiguration.

Life State: I used to LOVE this in TS2 but for some reason it doesn't get me as much in TS3. I like that the imaginary friends have the buff of "doing x for the first time" it's cute, if I make a simbot, I edit it in cas to make it look like a sim, it is super awesome when you see them hovering around on their jets (don't know if you can do that anymore with the new patches). I think I like the grim reaper the best LOL, I liked having those pitch black kids, pity it's stopped now. Much prefered Vampires in TS2, the TS3 ones are far too "true blood"-ized. I'd like the mummies, if they were more "mummies alive" (by the strength of RA!) then zombie mummies lol.

TS2 Object: Oh how I miss open for business, that was my favourite and it sucks we just have the "consignment store" I want to run a bakery like old times, or a flower shop and hire and fire sims. Ah those were the days...

Skill
Any music skill, handiness and cooking

Life State
Normal sims - I don't do any supernaturals... I didn't in TS2 but I'm enjoying vampires in TS3 and I'm not overwhelmed with vamps in my game.

No, it made its first appearance in TS2 Nightlife.

My favorite Career is a self-employed writer or a journalist so I can write reports trashing Sims in my neighborhood or write tell-all unauthorized biographies of celebrity Sims.

Favorite skill is the photography skill. It's the only one that I actively enjoy helping my Sims acquire. I also like the athletic skill when I gain it jogging. I really love just following my Sim around as they jog around town. SV has some great running paths and a morning jog across the bridge in Bridgeport makes playing that world worth it.

My favorite object is...hmm, I can't seem to think of one. I really like the animal-themed bedroom set from the store. I use that in a lot of homes. I also really like the LN hot tub which has slots to place objects. That was one of those pleasant surprises where you don't expect EA to do something that you feel like they should think of doing, if that makes any sense.

Lifestate: I only play normal Sims.

TS2 object: TS2-style cars where the doors would open and Sims could sit inside and listen to music, make out and woohoo. And restaurants (that's sort of an object...)

Oh, I know that. ^^ I was asking what objects people missed from TS2 that were not in TS3 yet and someone mentioned something that sounded like the Dance Sphere, but we have that in TS3 now.

Career: Probably reporter, I just like the whole, write reports thing. I've not played at all most of the careers so there might be others I might like but don't know it yet. I also really like that you can be sel-eployed, without having to be unemployed.

Skill: Gardening and cooking. I like how many plants we have and I also like how you need ingredients to cook.

Object: There ae a lot of objects I like, but to choose one. Maybe bunkbeds because my houses are always so small.

Lifestate: Witches, I know we don't have them but if the next EP is true and they are there I will probably love them.

Favorite Sims 2 object that isn't in the Sims 3 yet: Like the original poster, I really miss all the items from FT. Except the music synthesizer or what was it called. I would like to see the violin and sewing and the junk car make a comeback.

Career: I love the Medical and the Journalism careers. But when are we gonna get a Law career?! It's about damn time. I think I like these coz they reflect my real life goals.

Skill: Logic, writing, gardening, cooking.

Object: Too many! Baby swing, costume trunk, pool table, playground equipment.

Lifestate: No thanks. Just normal sims.

Favorite Sims 2 object that isn't in the Sims 3 yet: Diving boards, change tables, sewing machine, limbs on babies.

Career: Daycare. I'm a very motherly person in real life and love children, so this really appeals to me.

Skill: Probably the photography skill

Object: Dexter the Bear. Okay okay, I've had to say the treehouse.

Life State: Vampires. I've always been a huge Anne Rice fan, and I'm just thankful the vampires don't sparkle to be honest. I expected, with how the Sims 3 is trying to keep up with "pop culture" or whatever, that they would sparkle.

Favorite Sims 2 Object That Isn't a TS3 yet: Almost everything from Free Time, owning a business and WEATHER!

Life Stage: Teen Traits: Hopeless Romantic, Computer Whiz, Couch Potato, Shy Partner: Ted
School: High School Career: Writing; Fan Fiction Drafter Miscellaneous: Rich; Scorpio

Career: any self-employed one. Painting and writing offer the most variety. Too much dull grind with all the SHT ones bur I like the visual effects of the top acrobat act.

Skill: at the beginning of a game, handiness is obligatory since Sims can't afford a repairman. Photography and music later on.

Object: musical instruments. I am mad about the fact that kids can't use them, though - somebody should tell those EA morons something about Mozart. As it is, they are more than two hundred years behind the times.

Lifestate: normal Sims only. Tried to play a vampire as they came out, did not click.

Favorite Sims 2 object that isn't in the Sims 3 yet: all the hobby objects,

Career: I don't know...I like almost all careers equally. Maybe self-emplyment.

Skill: Handiness, I like having everything self-cleaning.

Object: All high-energy beds, the tub/shower combo, the oldfashioned TVs, the new ST sofa sets, the fridge you get on top of Cooking career.

Life State: Horse/unicorn I looove horses and Pets was a huge success in my book. Love cats too.

TS2 Object: The toddler blanket, the juicer, the public shower, all stuff-making stations.
