So, I know this is extremely late, since the game came out a while ago, but I've nevery played with the Ottomas family.

I know that the mother's twins are glitched, since I've read it on various places. I have the game patched for seasons and everything.

TheSimsWiki suggested that we terminate her pregnancy and play as normal... And every time I tried by using the Insim, she still walked pregnant, and had her maternity clothes on. She was acting glitchy... So, I'm wondering if I should even risk playing the game, and have her babies, or should I recreate them?

I don't mind if I have to recreate them, but would I extract them from SimPE to do it? Because I want them to look exactly the same.

Was your neighborhood created after you patched your game? If so, then the Ottomas family should be completely safe to play.

No... It was not. That's why I'm concerned.

I know nothing about insim, but a proper abortion will correctly reset the walk and clothing. I hope that you have a backup from before you decided to abort, since insim seems to have mucked up.

If you extract a sim using SimPE, then any sim created using that information should look the same.

Yeah, I didn't save after what happened. I just found it so extremely strange as to why it didn't terminate correctly! I didn't want to have to go through the hassle of making them again... but I guess I don't mind! :P

So... I'm assuming that deleting the old family, and remaking them would be safer? :P

Deleting the family will corrupt your neighborhood.

Assuming that the baby hasn't been born yet, you may have several options: Fix the pregnancy controller using SimPE, abort the pregnancy and fix Samantha's walk using ChristianLove's pregnancy tester, or avoid playing the family. It may also be possible to kill off the pregnant sim.

Be sure to backup your save game first, if you haven't already.

The baby has not been born yet. And I don't want to kill off Samantha and leave the rest.

Should I just recreate a new family, and leave the old one in the bin? Because I think even when Samantha's pregnancy has been aborted, I've tried to view her "personal stats" that can be seen with the help of insim, and it makes her buggy.

How would I fix her pregnancy using SimPe?

Can you explain what you mean by buggy? It may be that your neighborhood is already corrupt.

Are you aware that sims in the Sim Bin can still show up on your lot? I believe that they can show up as sims brought home from work. There may be other circumstances when they will appear on a lot. So, it's possible that your buggy sim will still be in play, even if she's in the Sim Bin.

I don't know for sure that you can fix the pregnancy controller, especially after a partial abortion using insim. However, here's what I would try (after backing up, of course):
- Open the neighborhood in SimPE.
- Find the Sim Description record for the father. Note down the hex instance number.
- Find the Sim Description record for Samantha.
- Open her memories.
- Find the pregnancy controller.
- Find the father ID within the pregnancy controller. I believe that it's set to 0x15.
- Replace the father ID with the correct father ID that you found above.
- Commit, save, exit.
- Test by allowing the pregnancy to run to term. If the child has the correct father in his family ties and all memories seem correct, then I'd assume that it worked.

So, I went and looked through and followed your instructions carefully and correctly. Once I got to her pregnancy token, and found the father I.D. she had "0x027A" which correlates to Peter's I.D. Does this mean that I can be safe to assume that her pregnancy is NOT going to result in destruction of my game? :P

And by buggy... well, I tried to terminate her pregnancy, and she still walked around like she was expecting. I tried to read her personal information in-game, and she just jumped and appeared on another place in the lot.

Based on my understanding of the problem, yes, it sounds like her pregnancy is OK.

However, it worries me that you are getting jump bugs with that character. You might want to consider turning on debug mode and seeing what kind of error messages you're getting.

I had her give birth. I quickly sped up her pregnancy, and had her have her twins. She had two boys. They were perfectly normal (albeit very ugly! :P). Does this mean that they are perfectly safe?

And she only gets jumpy when I tried to abort her. She is the only sim I have ever had with this problem.

There's no way to say that something is "perfectly safe". Do the boys have Peter as their father in their family tree? Does Peter have the boys as his children in his family tree? Do everyone's memories look reasonable?

Yes, actually! I just doubled checked, and everything looked perfectly fine. I even did another test, where I reloaded, and she had two girls this time. Everything also looked perfectly normal.

Then, as far as I can tell, everything is OK. I'm still a bit concerned about your jump bug, but I suppose that you don't have to worry about it unless you continue to have problems.

And don't worry about how ugly the twins are. You'll get used to it, and once you survive the living hell of their babyhood, they're great fun to play. My Ted and Theodora Ottomas wouldn't win any beauty contests, but Ted is sweet as pie, steady as a rock, and astoundingly virile; and Theodora makes an excellent Romance sim.

All you can do is the best you can do.
(My most recent book is Sullivan, That Summer. In case you care.)

Oh thank goodness! And I will learn to love them! I was just making sure that they are supposed to be ugly. That it wasn't the mark of something getting mixed up!

I do have the jumping bug I think with the matron of J'Adore Bakery (or however her name is spelled).... I think I do. Every time she tries to buy something from some business she jumps.... but this has been a problem for so long, and is unrelated to this. Should I just play her out, and let her die off? Because I have no viable backups for her.
