I've updated the main post with lots of new-ish information, so please reread it.

I would have never though about adding each round to our cover posts! Great idea!

Phae and Jones! thank you so much for this contest and the shabby digital downloads suggestion! Phae for the contest so I can learn and practice digital textures and scrapbook and Jones because I have been struggling with producing our real life extensive family tree using the formats that come with family tree maker - their templates don't do what I want. I know about scrapbooking, of course, buyt have never tried my hand at the modern version. We just used to scribble on paper and make headlines for pictures in those old photo books and not much else. so Yea! Porky will join the 21st century digital scrapbooking design cadre! The digital scrapbooking resource will make that a fun project. I have too many books to produce so digital is the way to go. Like I've said previously, I have no talent at drawing so using pre made textures really help. :0) YIPPEE! I can't wait to start playing!

Busy mashing meshes.

You're welcome very much, porky! I used to scrapbook with real paper and photos, but with three kids, by the time I dig out all my stuff and sit down to do it, I don't have the time or desire! lol. Then I discovered the wonderful world of digital scrapbooking, and I'm back in! It's so easy to just do it on the computer! I love it

Love your suggestions of photos to put in for the wedding pages Phae - I'd already planned a "cake" shot, complete with jokey comments from the blushing bride Starts thinking about other photos she can take and how to arrange them.

I too had never thought of editing our application posts for each round, but it makes sense.

No need to use my full name, "Selly" will do just fine.

Because of the way the subscriptions work for the thread and that I'm asking you all to edit your original post instead of posting new, feel free to write up a little 'bump' post for when you update so we all get a notification. You are recommended to 'clean up' your application post text and tell a story along with the photos, and your "I've updated!" post should be where you tell me how horrible photoshop was being to you and how adorably silly the toddler was with her mush. Keep the scrapbooking post as 'professional and in-character' as possible.

I'm about halfway done with my example pages for you guys. I got side-tracked by my mom visiting for a few days.

Applications are still open and we'd love to have anyone else who thinks they might just want to join! (Let's keep the link in our siggys until at least then, shall we?)

I finished finished my pages! Time to get inspired and come up with some great shots and themes for your own wedding. Please tell me everyone saw this round coming. The next round is likely almost as predictable, but then it gets interesting... Yay for our 10 contestants making us official!

Thank you InesMarie! My family is from one of my uploads, the Dad already had a little alien girl, and I was dying to use those pretty fairy wings I'd downloaded forever and a half ago, so I decided the little girl would be a butterfly alien. It was just too cute not to have Mom spawn a little daisy boy right then and there. Flowers and butterflys are natural best friends. They had gotten married only a few minutes before.

Everyone, you are welcome to post earlier than Friday if you need help/feedback/advice/constructive criticism. Your bonus points get tallied based on your last edit time so you could totally cheat my system by uploading on Tuesday and then editing some text in your post on Friday. Though, I might notice that the picture is the still the same. This contest is very much about learning and honing skills, so if you feel something is off and you just can't tell what, post and ask. We'd love to help.

Those wings are now in my download folder! They are so cute!

Thanks for letting us post earlier. I need all the help I can get! I was thinking I should change my terrible scrapbook cover but I decided to let it be so I can see how much my artwork improves (hopefully) Had to go on a download binge for wedding dresses and digital scrapbook stuff - Well actually, I was busy so Inez did the work and I made her share it with me.

Now to get busy for awhile anyway My hubby is off at a swap meet but he's supposed to take me to see Dark Shadows tonight! I just have to see that campy movie mainly because we used to RACE home after school to get to see it when we were kids. We all glued ourselves to the tv waiting for Barnabas to bite someone. The potential was always there but I don't think we ever saw him bite anyone! The funny thing is my mom wondered why we all raced home to glue ourselves to the tv precisely at 4. One day, she poked her head around the corner into the front room just in time to see Barnabas with full fang face ready to bite someone and went "EEK! What are you children watching! Turn that off! Go outside!" "NoOooOOoOOooo Mom!! We want to see Barnabas bite someone!" I HATE soap operas to this day! They make you wait and wait and wait for the 'scene'. My hubby missed out on Barnabas because he was on a school bus and didn't get home in time. He will probably want to see the Avengers too.

Busy mashing meshes.

Kisses, you have officially confused me. Your inline image is nice and large and appears to be the right size and is loading from your attachment, but when I click on the attached thumbnail of it, it pops up tiny. How did you do that? o.O Anyways, your new cover is lovely.

It depends a little bit on which graphics program you use. If you use Photoshop, go File -> Save for Web (or Ctrl-Shift-Alt-S), and fiddle with the quality slider until it's just under 250kb.
I know GIMP has a similar feature, but I don't know how to use it. If you're using another image editor, go go Google.

I don't have The Sims 2 installed on my current laptop, and have managed to lose the base game so can't reinstall it, otherwise I'd definitely enter! I am vaguely considering ordering the base game so I can enter, but it depends when the application round is going to end - I'd be ordering it off Amazon so it's likely to take a week or so to get here, especially as I can't spare the extra £5 for faster postage. I could manage to get something in for the 28th, but maybe not the 21st... I've kind of been looking for an excuse to buy The Sims 2 again, I miss it! I still have all the EP's on disk, it's just the base game I've somehow managed to lose. I'm such a muppet sometimes...

If you still require an emergency judge I am happy to put my name forward :-) I do a bit of Sims 3 scrapbooking, so I can provide pictures as required, just let me know if you do still need an EJ or not :-) It looks like it's shaping up to be an awesome contest Phae! :-D

Awesome! Thanks Phae :-) I am forced to confess to something: I just ordered The Sims 2 basegame off Amazon, and didn't pay extra for faster postage. The second I'd hit the Purchase button I was wishing I had done... Guess that even though I haven't played it in about 6 months I'm still an addict at heart! Great, now I will have two sims games to be addicted to.....

I've never used a pose box before, but I decided to download a couple for this, not sure I like them yet. Will have to play around with it a bit more...

I am making an official executive decision here about this round's deadline. We are going to use the full 2 weeks for Round 1. You may still submit early for the bonus points, but this will allow for more people to join, and because Wednesday May 23 is a very big presentation for me in school and I won't have time to spend during the weekend before to make up examples for Round 2. I *might* be able to start Round 2 sooner than the next Monday, like that Friday or Saturday, but no promises. Please spend the time learning how to use your image programs to the best of their scrapbooking abilities so you can go super fast in the later rounds. And lets see how many more best-friend's cousins we can pull into our little contest.

YEA! More time for round 1! I realy need it because I am a silly widget! I have been searching for church stuff to make a church and wasting time downloading stuff I'll never use again. lol... All because Ines wants a Catholic alter for her fancy wedding pictures. I'll just grab some images for her and tell her to fake the background. I think My family will just elope. It's way easier!

I'd like to extend a personal congrats to a few of our contestants who took the Creator plunge earlier this month. Congrats to jones7659 and leah10006, and I know x-kisses-for-yooh-x also recently joined the ranks. MTS wouldn't be the place it is without brave people like you. YAY!

Thanks Phae! I've started a billion lots over the years with the intention of uploading, and the never did, lol. Still waiting to see if my fixed "sheep" gets approved.

I've posted my "rough" first wedding page. I don't like the group photo...any suggestions. Not sure my "binding shadow" looks right either... Any other critiques are welcome as well!

Also, do you want us to post our in-line's like yours? As one "spread"? And then post as separate 954x954 attachments?

As long as you have the separate pages attached, I don't mind if you do your inlines either as two separate pages or as a full spread through another picture site, your call on that one. (I'd recommend doing them as a spread because that's how you'd read a book and they look nicer that way, but I don't want to put too many restrictions on people.)

I like where you are going with that page and I can't wait to see the second! The binding shadow could be a little darker, and the drop shadows on everything else should be less fuzzy and smaller. They are so spread out I can barely tell they are there. As for the group photo, I would just move_objects them all closer to each other, and maybe catch the bride and groom in the middle of a dip kiss? The rest of them could be clapping or cheering or shocked even. Catching action makes for a good photo.

Thanks, Phae. I will have to "cheat" and take the group photo at home, as the wedding is at a community lot, or am I forgetting a cheat to enable build/buy on community lots....I think maybe I am forgetting. This is the first time I've ever really played around with shadows, thanks so much for the tips And I think the in-lines as a spread is better too. Guess I'll have to sign up for some photo hosting site, lol. Any suggestions for photo hosting?

*EDIT* Apparently I forgot I had a photobucket account O.o (I have signed up for so many things over the years, I can't tell you how many times I've gone to sign up for something and them found out I already did years ago, lol) So I'll just use tinypic

*EDIT2* Fiddled with the shadows a bit. Any better?
