Well.. I predict Sims 4 will be launched by EA sometime in the future. I will also predict that it will have more online capability. I'm leaning more to the - it's going to be online whether we like it or not - as opposed to just "some online capabilities". Worse case scenario - Sims 4 will be the new TSO revamped.

Or what if Maxis gets fully involved with The Sims 4 but simply titles it The Sims? That's how they are doing it with SimCity, even though people still refer to it as SimCity 5.

Yes, but they are still implementing features requested by EA, such as the online gameplay. I don't think having Maxis as the developers will help much.

Personally I believe we'll be seeing TS4 sometime in 2014, as for the game itself I could go on and on about what I hope it has, but truthfully I'm not making judgements until I hear more about it. I do hope that TS4 doesn't have any online gameplay to it, if it does as long as it's all optional I won't be too bothered by it.

As for Pescado's remark, he takes a consistent position that the future is not real and therefore cannot be discussed, which puts him at odds with the way the human brain works as reflected among other things in the way language is organized. We have the capability (some would say unique among other species) of imagining and discussing the future, as well as other kinds of unrealized events and things in e.g. intentions, desires, counterfactual situations, commands, and of course the whole of imagination and fiction. And we have in language all kinds of specialized grammar for doing so, including future tense, irrealis aspect, imperative mood, negation, a variety of modals, conditionals and subjunctives and so on. All of this indicates that we are, in fact, well-equipped to conceptualize and describe future events, yet somehow Pes uniquely lives in a world where he is trapped in the present and the past So, yeah, not to worry.

However, he is correct. The future is not real as it does not yet exist.

I would actually welcome an online mode ONLY if it's optional and free. The online mode could consist of a massive world separate from the offline mode, and never to affect the offline mode.

If they did do an online mode like that I wouldn't oppose. I know plenty of people encourage/want online gameplay and it sounds like it'd be giving us the best of both worlds. I'd never use it, but as long as it doesn't impact my offline gameplay I'm a happy simmer.

Well, that's the thing. EA has to please both groups... or they should, anyway. This idea can make both groups happy.

I predict the community will get leaks and peeks of TS4 in 2013. I have a gut feeling of how things are being released in TS3 that once they make that Double Deluxe for TS3 it is the signal it is over, though one more EP may follow..just like in TS1 and in TS2.

I also predict TS4 will be online, if not F2P then certaintly some type of MMO. Who ever thought Sims City would be multi player, and your city affects theirs and vice versa..EA is bent on making all their games 'socially interactive/connected'.

I predict it will be more than ever like a F2P game,... need a car, a house, or a couch?...buy it for your Sim on the website. More RPG game play....need a table?...earn one for free when your Sim does this or that..or is unlocked when you complete 'something'.

I'm not sure it will be like Second Life..but I suspect there is a new game engine because the game will need one to incorporate all those RPGing quests to gain the stuff your Sim needs, and to implement the F2P, but buy what you need from the online site before you go forward with your Sim.

Do we know if any of the EA people read these forums? If they are working on a Sims 4 now isn't it the best time to start threads for ideas and such?

I have quite a few of those, just to name a few:

Gradual Aging
Height on sims
Better chemistry/complex relationships
Expand on open world with subhoods, so there is no longer any rabbitholes (for eg. in most MMO's when you get to the edge of the map, it loads you to the other side).

Last but not least, please more interactions. More sandbox, let the player decide how it should be played.

On the other hand, just because something don't physically exist, doesn't mean they couldn't be discussed. The idea of Sims 4 had already existed in many people's minds and even if they can't make factual announcements and discussions at the moment, they could very well speculate.

Bugs.

PS: Had to add a PS because "bugs" alone is evidently too short. Sorry for waisting your time.
