Hello

Recently I had an issue with a new dress mesh I've tried to make, initially there are really ugly seams errors in it that appeared on the hands and legs. The kind Elexis helped me out with them, but when I went in-game, the seams glitch was still there! Even though they were less visible, they still existed. Elexis gave me a tip to drag the LN definition slider to minimum, and it worked! The seams were gone!

Animated picture
(Excuse the use of a pose that stretches everything, but it was the only one who clearly showed everything)

But still, I want to know how I can remove these 100%, with both definition slider at MIN and MAX, so everybody could use this dress.
Do you have any tips on how to fix it? Thank you

You can try Cmars toolkit first: http://www.modthesims.info/showpost...14&postcount=11

I had similar issues and was able to fix it a bit more with the ''make smoothing groups'' tool in Milkshape.
That tool comes with Wes H his sims 2 unimesh plugin for Milkshape.(http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=122399)
If your using TSRW you have to first:
- convert your sims3pack to package,(http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=364038)
-open the package with s3PE(http://www.den.simlogical.com/denfo...hp?topic=1025.0)
-export the GEOM
-import it in Milkshape with Wes H his GEOM importer.(http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=357403)
You then can run the tool, listed under tools, it does take a few minutes depending how strong your computer is.
-export with Wes H his export plugin
-import back in the package with S3PE -save

It does fix the abs and makes the seams less noticible
It is useless to run it on WSO files for tsrw because when importing into tsrw the settings get lost.

Is this going to work if instead of extracting the geom file (which I think it's the mesh, right?) I just load the mesh I already have saved on my hard drive and simply run the tool?

And I suppose it will work for CTU too, just skipping the s3p to package conversion?

Thanks, I am going to try it right now
*closes his game*

I used the "Smoothing Groups v4.09" tool or whatever it name was and since the mesh had over 3000 faces, the program said it would take hours
And I have to do it again for the teen version

EDIT: Okay, it took only a couple of minutes, that was quick

Gaaaah, the seams are still there :\
Oh well, at least they are less visible and are located in areas that players would doubtfully watch. Unless the sim likes to wave arms like an idiot :D

While I fixed the problem with the seams, I somehow made another one... lmao

There is one very tiny, but still able to be seen gap between the foot and the upper part of the leg. It only appears with shoe meshes that don't cover exactly that part. How did I managed to break stuff so much.. lmao

If you want, you can try my new tangent fixer tool - it's very easy to use, just run it on your mesh. Just save your mesh as a new file, just in case since this is still a bit experimental!
Download - please read all instructions before downloading any files!
File Type: zip MeshTangentCalculator.zip (37.0 KB, 4 downloads) - View custom content
Description: Unzip into a folder (separate from MeshToolkit folder) and run MeshTangentCalculator.exe

I swear this dress is going to make me cut my head off. The ugly gap in the shoe still exists D:
Here's a link for a picture: *click*

I tried using Cmar's tools, but still no avail. How can such a simple dress be so problematic.

you have to switch back to a earlier mesh.
The gap is from Wes his tool, use a mesh from before that and run Cmars tool on it

Are you saying that I should run Cmars tool with a base game mesh, then edit it? Because I just re-did the mesh for the 5th time lol.

no, when did the gap occur?
With me it happened after i used the make smoothing groups tool.
If your still using that mesh it will never go away.

Take your first custom dress mesh, the one before you tried any tool on it.

Actually I was stupid enough to overwrite every mesh... hahaa

Anyway, the gap error showed on my dress when I used Cmar's tool. I made 2 different meshes with and without using Smoothing Groups tool.
And I am doing the dress all over again from a base game mesh.

Here's the most recent geom file of the mesh, I haven't used the Smoothing Groups Tool thing in Milkshape, but I had used Cmar's tangent calculator.
Download - please read all instructions before downloading any files!

Thanks for trying, but the gap is still there. I guess there is no way of saving this dress.
