Like, has this ever happened in-game or is that really just a joke?

A suggestion: if you want a vibrant and lively discussion, you should *claim* and not merely ask.
A polite question like this may derail the discussion into the area of the actual explanation that might be informative but is also dull as a VCR manual.*
*for anyone born after 1990s, VCR is a machine from the olden days... Ah... you wouldn't understand. It was so long ago and the manuals were dull so I never actually read one anyway. Better forget it ever existed.

Some useful examples of lively "kitten killer debate" instigators:
1. Make a bold statement: OMG, it does! It kills kittens! Or:
2. I installed InTeen and within minutes my kitten was screaming in pain! Help!!! Or:
3. I use InTeen and am thinking about adopting a stray kitten. Will it be safe?!

The best thing about a good thing is that it inspires a better thing.

Oh...I don't agree with that, Simsica, sorry. This isn't the debate section, although I do like your third suggestion.

This problem has been fixed so long ago.

Besides, who needs kittens anyway?

Every time you delete a tombstone a kitten is being taken to Hell. Think of the kittens.

Wait, I remember maxon saying "it got fixed", but what version was that?

Seriously, I'm lost/confused here. Is there a flavor pack or something?

Oh, the debate will just happen - do you think it cares about the rules of any forum? The kitten is at stake!*

*No, I didn't say I'm going *to stake* the kitten. That verb is also from the olden days, when there were vampires and Buffy, I mean vampire slayers.
The kitten is safe!

Or... is it?

I forgot that you were a Buffy fan .

No...the kittens aren't safe. The vamps use them to place bets.

See?! And they ask me why I don't like Spike? He's worse than InTeen! Who knows what destiny awaits those poor kitties.

At least with InTeen we know.

Do we? It gets more confusing by every post.

By the way: I do know what a vcr is and I also remember Buffy the vampire slayer. :p

Is it time to be serious again? I can never tell...

But seriously, read this very recent thread for any semblance of info on this subject.

I can be helpful when I'm not distracted by kittens, see? It's only that kittens are mentioned in almost each post here, so...

Sorry about the non-seriousness. Promise to behave next time, (*puts on her serious face) seriously.

ETA: Did you know that you can press "disagree" button on your own post? I didn't. Each day you learn...

I always wanted to know the answer to this question myself. It puzzled me to see an additional package to prevent Inteen from killing kittens with AL and I never knew whether I should install it or not. I guess people who know would rather make fun of us than share their knowledge.

'Twas a flavour pack - though I don't want to be helpful or informative or anything.

The whole "kitten killing" thing is explained in the thread Simsica referenced, especially in posts 11, 17, and 19.

I read the readme for InTeen quite recently (as in, just the other day when we last had this discussion), which says that the ilovekittens flavour pack disables the kitten-killing feature of InTeen. That would suggest that by default, yes, InTeen kills kittens.

PS: You people hitting 'disagree' can stop, I've tested it and I'm right. So there. Neeener neener.

I don't think so. Certain hacks interfere with the ability of pets to reproduce. That's not the same as killing kittens. I don't remember if InTeen interfers with that aspect of the game or not. It may be that only one of the flavor packs does and needs to be removed to have your animals reproduced or that part was fixed. If Maxon says it was a flavor pack, then it's a flavor pack.

It also may have been a joke referring to some thing that got bolixed.

Yes, InTeen by default does kill kittens. A HDCU report with the ILoveKittens flavor pack in will show a conflict with one of the main sections with the title "Hunt Kittens". The phrasing "Every time you download InTeen, God kills a kitten" was started as a joke, but likely Jase implemented the kitten-killing section when Pets came out -- if you have kittens in a household and a teen pops in to either the second or third trimester (not sure if it's either or both), a kitten will die.

After a bit of searching: I knew it was somewhere. Pictorial proof that InTeen can and does kill kittens.

Ahaha, I just decided that the best way to find out the answer was to test it. So I put InTeen and Christianlov's Baby Pet Creator in a brand new Anygame. I adopted a kitten, and then had Lilith try for a baby with Dirk. Nothing happened. Then I created a kitten with the baby pet creator. Nothing happened - because at that moment, Lilith gave birth. So. I had Angela invite Dustin over for some babymakin'. Then I created another kitten. As soon as Angela had her first pop, Grim showed up for that final kitten.

So in conclusion, YES, InTeen kills kittens. It must be kittens that are born on the lot though, it does not kill adopted kittens. THE END.

ETA: Oh, and I took some screencaps if anyone wants more proof. ^^
ETA2: HAHAHA oh dear. I just took a look at the pictorial evidence posted above and realised they used Angela too! XD Poor Angie kitten-killer.

*Shudders* Oh, no thanks, that's ok...I'm at my quota.

BTW, if anyone is interested, it took me a while to realize that it was Christianlov's clothing boutique that conflicted with either Inteen or the pregnancy wear anything mod and did not allow my pets to reproduce. The solution, for me, is to temporarily remove the clothing boutique when I am playing a family with pets that are breeding.
