Ok! I've seen most of you hoping that The Sims4 will be made. I've got a different theory about this... I suspect that there will be no Sims 4 because Maxis allready made 3 sims and lots of packs. They would need many new features and expansion packs to make the players satisfied, and repeating old things wouldn't be very productive. Instead of that, I think (and hope) they will make a Sims-themed MMOG ( massive online multiplayer game)! This maybe sounds strange, but lets look the facts.

After all, I still don't think The Sims 4 is coming soon. You all are still free to share your ideas, but be mindful about it. Have you ever wondered if EA added numerous features that include violence or mature elements? Those things like killing, weapons, etc. like that are impossible. Be realistic a bit

Ok, please share your ideas..!

:Here's mine:

Babies more like in the sims 2 with cothes and hats and a little bit of hair (not that much thats what seperates them from toddlers).
swimming on beaches
surfing
game shows
relistic like simcity 4
cheeeeeeerleading!
WORLD WAR 2
ARMY!
CANNON!
scuba diving
Middle school and high school
HIP HOP!
much better dance
stages
swim on fountains
pool should be deeper
run all over the neighboorhoods or worlds being naked
ghostbusters
many jobs
pets
high skycrapers
AWESOME THINGS!
skateboards
wonders like pyramids
buisness
strollers for babies or toddlers
backflips
sims 4 should be relistic
MANY CHEATS!
create own cas
much better hairs
custom contents will not slow down sims 4
many neighborhoods or worlds
apartments
fashion shows
babies in cas make them look different
see what happens in school and jobs and buildings
weather
pre-teen
mermaides, superheros
fairies
Seasons and pick clothes for each one
teenage pregnancy and woohoo
alchohol and getting drunk so you can have one-night stands(people that are just aquantancies)
aliens and abduction
all the stuff that happens in previous expansion then add some more different ones(i'm getting sick of the same thing over and over)
more realistic sims
continued stories
magic
create own animations or dance
aspirations + traits + turn offs and ons
murder
kindergarden for toddlers
aging + death and stuff clips like in the sims 2
stuff from sims 1, 2 and 3
instruments
ballet
new jobs fashion, vet, singer, dancer etc
teen jobs like sims 2
university
no homework everynight once a week

Ok guys, things like rape, drugs, murder, kidnapping, would NEVER appear in the sims. Car crashes could come, but no blood. I would like more life stages, like Newborn (0-Half a month old) Baby (Half a month-2) Babies and teenagers go to daycare if the parents want them too Toddler(2-5) Toddlers go to pre-school again, if the parents want them too.Child (5-10) Children don`t have to go to school if thier parents don`t want them to. Pre-teen (10-13) Go to middle school if thier parents let them. Teen (13-18) Go to high school if THEY want. Young Adult (18-35) Can go to college if they want to get better pays and jobs but takes 4 years and they only have the option while they are a young adult. Adult (35-50) Women aren't as fertile anymore and takes more tries to succsessfully get pregnant. Young Elder (50-65) Can retire, and aren't as fertile as adults and can only have one more baby. Elder (65-100 or Death) Elders can also retire, and Elders that live over 100 reach Young Death.
What they should also have is, the sims being able to learn to drive, have driving lessons and players be able to have controls on driving... sort of like Grand Theft Auto
If I was to design several aspects of the game, I would do something like this:
Better passing of time: Not only hours, days and weeks, but also months and years, choosing with which month and year to start (sort of like some of the Simcity games).
:D

EA/Maxis already made two Sims-themed 'MMOG' games: The Sims Online, and, The Sims Social. Both of which were flops. So why would they be stupid enough to do it again?

Having lots of features in a game where you cannot control the story would be pointless. Just as pointless as releasing a simulator game without many simulation options.

PS. Is that the real cover for the magic EP?

Pretty much sums up the current state of TS3. I keep hoping for an EP that will bring the simulation back to The Sims.

I'm not slamming any theories or anything, but EA's probably going to go all the way to TS10. Here is my evidence.

Anyway, I'd love to see Seasons in the base game. And Magic, University and Apartments.

Let's Play Sims.

I agree with Seabody. EA would never miss the chance to produce up to TS10. :D

Some online features already came with the newest (?) patches such as connecting to facebook. EA might extend these a little but I don't believe in a MMOG.

Magic for TS3 would be great though.

I don't really like MMOG :/ You have to pay monthly for the good ones. I just don't like the idea of paying for something I'll never own. Not saying they aren't fun, their just not for me.

I once thought i was sad because I had no shoes, then I saw a man with no feet.

I think the sims 3 is good enough, except the small perks in the updates and the poor graphics on hair and clothes by maxis. Grand theft auto and online playing games will just be too standard. I will get mad if the sims turn into a standard WOW-ish game. We have enough of that already

The last time this came up, I predicted that Sims 4 would continue to not exist. And would you look at that? I was right. It still continues to not exist. Who'd have imagined THAT outcome? At this point, "Sims 4" is less real than the tooth fairy, since you can probably make yourself a damned tooth fairy by now.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.

... Care to elaborate further? What are you defining "exist" to mean in this circumstance exactly? What you perceive as real at this point, or what the game developers over at EA perceive as being real...?

... Moved from "Generations" to Sims 3 Discussion.

Carry on!

As for Pescado's remark, he takes a consistent position that the future is not real and therefore cannot be discussed, which puts him at odds with the way the human brain works as reflected among other things in the way language is organized. We have the capability (some would say unique among other species) of imagining and discussing the future, as well as other kinds of unrealized events and things in e.g. intentions, desires, counterfactual situations, commands, and of course the whole of imagination and fiction. And we have in language all kinds of specialized grammar for doing so, including future tense, irrealis aspect, imperative mood, negation, a variety of modals, conditionals and subjunctives and so on. All of this indicates that we are, in fact, well-equipped to conceptualize and describe future events, yet somehow Pes uniquely lives in a world where he is trapped in the present and the past So, yeah, not to worry.

I wouldn't even think of buying a Sims 4 if it was possibly released.

Honestly, the Sims 3 as of now is just a terrible copy of Sims 2 with better graphics and a crappy AI.
I play Sims 2 and I don't like Sims 3 at all, if anyone likes it. Fine. Let's not argue.

All the expansion packs are basically the same. What new content could they possibly add?
Most of the things mentioned in the OP will surely not be added because EA is not going to risk it's status of a (mostly) vanilla game for the (mostly) casual player or (mostly) children and teens/tweens.

However knowing EA they WILL release a Sims 4. It's going to be all the same stuff that we had before put in a blender and terribly coded so they can make more profits more quickly.

The only thing I could think of would be that they take the good parts of all Sims games and pile it into one ultimate game: Sims 4

then again people have different play styles and you can never serve everyone anyway

You can't dedicate an entire point to criticisms of a game (just for convenience let's ignore the fact that the comments seem to be entirely irrelevant to the discussion and some are simply false) and then say that people can't "argue" with you by responding. If you don't want an argument then I strongly recommend you don't go out of your way to start one, especially not in an area where you can be guaranteed the vast majority of people will be of the opposite opinion.

But back to the topic, I expect TS4 will follow the same set up of the previous three games. The world provided by the base game will be relatively normal and relatively bland compared to what's offered by EPs currently, and then the EPs will add more content. If I'm right then that would mean nothing like superheroes or (much) magic in TS4 without an expansion for it. We can make countless predictions and guesses, but ultimately trying to guess what minor features will be included is impossible and the major ones are most likely going to be EPs, so guessing them isn't exactly easy either.

But World War 2 in TS4? How?

When there is a TS4 sorry J. M. Pescado yes there will be one.. It will do two things. Continue some of the establish story lines that for the most part we ignore.

Crumplebottom and Goth to name a couple of families.

The second thing is that I do not see any new engine or an AI that is any smarter. Just what ever latest one Ea thinks it can use for cheapest way to route a pixel from point A to point B

I would be shocked of Ea did either of those things.

Newer engines for game play seem to start life in first shooters.. I could be wrong about that, but don't think so.

A beefed up AI would be a good thing. One that is a bit more intuitive. Again I really do not see Ea doing either of those things simply because for all the money stream that the Sim franchise brings to Ea. It simply still has the reputation of a bunch of people playing with virtual dolls and doll houses. So why bother with a newer engine that would have bell and whistle that the gamer in question would not use.

The over riding reason that there will be a Sims 4 is MONEY! Ea loves us for the dollars we have in our pockets. That Ea feels should be in their bank account.
