I am pretty sure this has been a topic at some point, but i could not find it, as I looked. Feel free to point me in the direction if it has .. How do people decide how much money a sim starts with ? I am pretty sure the $20,000.00 gets old rather rather quickly not just for me. I realize it would depend on how you intend on playing and if you are doing a challenge or no challenge., but just looking for some ideas is all.

Well, you posted the same question two weeks ago, though you have since deleted the post. (I'm not saying that to embarrass you. Other forum members with memories like mine are going to think, "I did just see this topic! now when was it..." and I don't want them to waste their time looking for the thread.)

Having Apartment Life changes the way starting funds are calculated for CAS families. You still get §20,000 for a single CAS adult or elder, but each additional member of a CAS household brings more money: 5000 per adult/elder, 3000 per teen, 2000 per child, 1000 per toddler. So that provides some variety for people who start with varying households.

For Uni grads and individual move-outs, many people use Pescado's no20Khandouts mod, which gives the individual a proportional share of the household funds. So, if a 3-person household has §21,000 and one Sim moves out, that Sim starts with §7000. In a break-up, the loser booted from the island the household just gets §3000, assuming the household has §3000 in cash.

I don't use Pescado's mod because when I moved out of my parents' home, they did not give me 1/3 of their bank account. But I don't want free money in my neighborhood, so I use the banking function in Monique's computer to subtract §20,000 from the household an individual Sim is leaving. The 20K a Uni grad gets is accounted for in the enormous tuition they are charged. Otherwise, I leave the EAxis system alone. If my Sims want to buy a house their starting funds won't cover, I lay down some of Inge's mortgage shrubs. If they want to buy a community lot business immediately, they have to take out a loan via Monique's computer.

Thank you for you thoughts. Yes, I did post it previously, but before anyone answered the thread I deleted it .. because I felt I had not searched all options before posting the question, so there were no answers in that thread as far as I know of when I deleted it.
