Maybe he could archive it on the SFS. I love that we have that available to us. He could have two folders, one for the racier stuff alone.

As for sexy sims, I've given up on it. At some point I lost my password. It won't allow me to recover it or to make a new account. And no one answers emails over there, so....

What one could do in the mean time (provided that one is registered there..) is to download as much as possible of CH's mods and whatever else your heart fancies. Keep them in zipped form, and reup-load them to the media site of your choice.
Chris himself has not vetoed this idea-he's all for having people share his stuff..but I'd suggest at least PM'ing him to let him know what you're up to, if he's not going to do anything-which he just might, after all.

Agreed Fran - I was thinking of going over there and getting some of the more difficult modded stuff (by which I mean difficult to make otherwise). I would guess, with Chris still being around and being active, he might well be amenable to uploading his stuff somewhere. We'll have to talk to him (by which I mean us here as a group - I'm not wearing my mod hat here).

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
I'm here on tumblr and my site, tflc

@Maxon-perhaps you could PM him to come over here and discuss if he's going to do something, or should we do something?
I do believe that he'll probably do something because most original creators are pretty fussy when it comes time to share stuff-although he personally isn't, I'm sure that he does have an interest in seeing his stuff preserved.

I have such a hard time navigating his site, and don't really know how to zip or archive stuff, or I would do it. I'm giving my password info to anyone who can't log on, so maybe someone will be able to do it. I do have several of his mods. I'll go through my downloads and kind of separate them out for anyone who wants them.

Oh, so if anyone has been accidentally banned for inactivity or can't sign up now, let me know. You can use my password info. But remember, others are doing it,too, so you may have to try a couple of times till someone isn't using it.

Yeah, give the poor guy a chance to decide what he wants to do with his mods before you start making the decision for him. He's on MTS; you can tag him if you want to.

I'm glad the site owners chose someplace to put at least some of the mods and CC. The adult stuff might still be in limbo, but much of the family-friendly stuff would at least be OK.

Thanks to ALL free-site creators, admins and mods.

Charity, I always meant to and finally am getting around to saying this: thank you very much for introducing Chris Hatch's family-friendly stuff to the board. Before your thread on the subject, I'd heard of him as a creator but always felt a little skittish about going over and checking it all out. Your descriptions of the mods made me decide it was worth it to sign up at BAS to get to his more...accessible stuff, and I'm glad I did. He's talented.

It's also been great of you to run interference as you have on helping people get their accounts straightened out. I appreciated knowing you might be able to help if I ran into trouble now.

My account at BAS is still less than a year old, so hopefully I won't ever have trouble with the site, since I plan to download anything else I wanted from there later this week.

Again, thanks for all your energy in helping us discover a great modder. (Thanks also to Chris for his creations---and best wishes to him for finding a solid new place to archive and showcase future creations.)

I don't think that's the site owners doings. I think it's just someone who's sharing what they have/ downloaded before BAS goes bye bye. That's not to say that's not where the stuff won't end up or that they won't do it. Just that I don't think the site creators did it.

I hope the URL is correct. If not, contact me and I'll direct you to how I get there.

I'm going to make another thread to announce it since I've had a lot of people wanting my to download stuff for them, but I wanted to add it to this thread as
well.

EDIT: Don't want to take up space, posting them all again,so, just direct your eyes two posts down for all the URLs

I think even with the site going down all files and info will be preserved as everyone is so keen to save it in these last days.
Isn't it allowed to publish the info on other sites? With a link to thecfiles of course?

Does anyone know how this one works?

Turn on/off adjuster. Allows you to have more than the standard number of turn on/offs.

Edit: Also can't get 'joinable bath' to work. Neither of these have docs. Sorry, BAS was always a 'someday' site for me and now I can't get in to find the posts.

In the last few days I have been downloading all the CJH I think I might want in the foreseeable future along with the text of the first post of each, since this usually includes any instructions. The text for the joinable bath is:
Join -in a bathtub
By Chris Hatch

To place two sims together in a tub we all know to use moveobjects on cheat to place one bath
on top of the other in the opposite direction. Then we can instruct two sims to use each bathtub.
All this mod does is to detect the second tub and invoke the Maxis join menu. This way the second
tub can be invisable as it no longer needs to be selectable.

There are two versions for three EP configurations

The EP configurations are:
CJH_TwoInATub-toEP3.zip is for basegame, University, Nightlife or OFB
CJH_TwoInATub-EP4-EP6.zip is for Pets, Seasons or Bon Voyage
CJH_TwoInATub-EP7+.zip is for Free Time, Apartment Life or M&G

The two versions are
The basic version (without MOD in the name) only overwrites the pie munus of the baths. Maxis
bath privacy and shoo will prevent many sims including all teens from sharing a bath together.

The files with MOD in them include extra semi-global overrides to handle privacy and shoo. This
version will allow any sim, teen or older to share a bath with any other sim teen or older that
they are in ST love with. It will also allow children that are siblings to play in the bath
together.

Join should be available on the four basic Maxis bathtubs and the two Maxis Shower-baths. I could
not get it to work for the 'You Got Feets Bathtub' from Kitchen & Bath SP. Qualifying sims can
join both bubble baths and regular baths.

Each zip includes an invisible bath (CJH_2ndTub-Overlay.package) to place on your baths. It's
made specifically for this purpose so you will not need moveobjects on to place it. It has all of
it's menu items removed or hidden so you can't accidentally select it when instructing your sim
to use the bath. It deliberately raises the sim's hygiene level slowly so they can stay in the
tub together longer. It also has a join menu so when the first sim gets out the second sim can
ask anther sim to join.
When placing it be sure to POINT THE ARROWS TOWARD THE TAPS of the first tub. It's invisible so
you can't otherwise see which way it's facing.

So far I've only tested these with just Basegame, Pets as the highst EP and with all EPs
installed. With six tubs to test both regular and bubble baths, with all of the various sims
relationshiips and age combinations, it could take weeks before I get through the two versions
in all of the EPs. So there's a good chance there is a bug or two that I've missed.

UPDATE 21-April
For all versions and configuarations:
Visitors can use the invisible tub, so provided they pass the relationship requirements your
sim can invite a guest to join.
The invisible tub will use the motive adjustment values of the tub that it's on.

For the MOD versions; Teens, Adults and Elders
As soon as a sim starts to join the hygiene motive of the sim in the bath is dropped 25% to
ensure the sim doesn't get out of the bath before the join sim gets in.
Once the join sim is in the tub their hygiene motives are adjusted to the level of the sim with
the lowest hygeine level. As the motive adjustment of both tubs are now the same they should both
finish almost the same time as each other.
There is now a relationship boost when a sim joins.

For the MOD versions; Adults and Elders only
If there is an aduster bouquet (from the JSW projects) on the lot and privacy is OFF then the
relationship requirements are ignored, you can invite any adult or elder to join.

Update 27-May
For the MOD versions
Join sims will no longer fill the tub, they just get in.

Thank you to bad jane for this request/idea.

I haven't downloaded the turn on/turn off adjuster for myself because I have consistently ignored the whole turn on/turn off system ever since I started. (I give all my Sims the same turn-ons and turn-offs as myself -- maybe I think that, if I ever achieve my LTW of becoming a Sim and living in Veronaville, it will help me to find someone to fall in love with. ) However I'll try to get the text for you.

This is the text for the first post for Chris's Turn on/Turn off Adjuster:

Turn On/Off Adjuster
By Chris Hatch

A big, ugly tool for adjusting sim's turn ons and turn offs.
Your game can handle all of the turn ons/offs that you want your sims to have but it's UI (user
Interface) can't. This will allow you to simply add or remove turn ons and/or turn offs without
needing to edit the neighbourhood file in SimPe.

It uses a basegame mesh simply because it's already there and keeps the filesize tiny, it's a big
grey sphere on a wooden stand that I believe Maxis used for testing lighting. It's found in
decorative / sculptures.

I have tested in just Nightlife, in M&G and in T&A so it should be OK for any EP but I have not
tested the inbetween EPs.

Notes: If you just have basegame/EP1 then your sims don't have turn ons so there is no options
available.

This does work fine in T&A and A&N but I intend adding the options to T&A's skin tool so it won't
be needed soon.

Setting turn ons for EPs that you don't have may well be available, for example robots turn on
even if you don't have OFB. In that case setting them won't do any harm but it won't do any good
either.

The mod object looks like the same one as Chris used in his recent Lot Cleaner. As selecting the latter can have a drastic effect if used in an occupied lot, if you have both, it's probably better to remove the Lot Cleaner when you're not using it.

Thanks again, @AndrewGloria. I had tried some approaches including user other mods to modify a sim's existing turn ons/turn offs, and I'd looked for an object ... but had only looked in misc\misc.

Edit: Yep, it's in deco/sculptures and has a slightly arbitrary cost of $88, so has to be hunted down.

I use some of the mods, but I notice when I send a toddler to childcare the adult can't go to a community lot without hiring a nanny.
How come that the game doesn't know the toddler is not at home?
What can be done about this?

If I removed it from my game, I'd forget that I took it out and would lose it somewhere. I keep all my object mods in a collection folder. I edited the collection so that the TurnOn/TurnOff Editor is at the front of the list.. I moved the Lot Cleaner to the very end where I'm not likely to see it or click it by accident.
