"All of the brilliant people who have worked on getting the game's base scripts decompiled."

Are you using unpyc3 to decompile or have you found a source where all the base scripts have been decompiled?

I downloaded a zip of all the scripts that gizmozow uploaded in the Converting pyo files to py files thread here on MTS. The whole thread, and others, are a very interesting read though!

The second example shows the use of sims.get_sim_id_by_name to do just that, but basically it's just:

sims.get_sim_id_by_name firstname lastname

I just ran the batch process to get py files with unpyc3 but the end result is a naming convention of yada.pyo.py.

yours are yada.py. I'll compare a few from your zip to the results of the mass unpyc3 decompile.

I'm hoping they are the same? Or yours are even more accurate.

EDIT: Looks like when opening the pyo.py files from the batch run, they appear formatted (indents etc..) in notepad. Yours are not which tells me you might have used a different process?

I'm working on improving this. It does work (or at least works for me), but it requires the sim to be on the lot and it's a very a long number to have to type in! If you are not getting the line that it is adding the satisfaction (it won't pop up the animation on screen for a non-selected sim) then you may be typing the id wrong.

I'm working on improving this so the command takes first and last name directly.

I don't know - I never messed around with decompiling them myself as downloading the zip seemed much simpler. You should probably ask in the discussion thread I mentioned above -- I'm just benefiting from all their fine work myself.

I see now. gizmozow ran his own decompile process. you might want to refer to darkkitten's batch process. Possibly those are zipped up somewhere as well.

Does it work for you if you use it just on the currently selected sim (just leave the id number off), eg: satisfaction 1000 -- should give 1000 satisfaction to your current sim? If not, is the game fully patched? They just fixed the ability to add commands on the 9th I believe, it was broken in the first release.
