This looks really cool! I'll probably download it once I'm finished messing with my food mods.

Can this be made usable by children, too? Most kids I know can put ketchup on a burger. (Though I understand it might not be feasible, animation-wise.)

I'm having the same problem. Are you by any chance using Icarusallsorts' cook with any ingredient? It may render the dishes non-vanilla and thus unrecognisable. That's a complete guess, I'm as clueless as anyone.
