You can start by repairing your game in Origin, add the essential mods, go through your other mods and make sure you have the ones updated for AL. 6, Run the HCDU program to see if you have mod conflicts - do that by making a copy of your Sims 2 Ultimate Collection folder, rename the copy The Sims 2. Here is info from the page for this mod You do not have Inteenimater and this mod needs to be taken out. This is just one that I see of the top and I do see another one so you need to go redownload your mods for AL/M&G so they will work for UC. Please read all info and instructions for each mod you redownload. |
I had all sims 2 EP & SP apart from Glamour life
I'll redownload it but some of the info about which one is needed is hard to read especially since I'm not good with these things so I just download the latest....as they say

We all learn the hard way
Read here:
http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=532696
You need to have these mods in your game, because corruption and mistakes have crept into the original games.
You really need to read the instructions by the creator! For instance - NoSimLoaded does not work without Cyjon's SmarterEPcheck - and it is in the instructions.
Every time you download the wrong mod, your game will give you problems. And it is not really that technical, just take it slow and methodical now and you will be able to play for years without problems.

Also, there are times when a mod works great in one game, but crashes like mad in another game because the other machine has different downloads. In other words, two pieces of CC do not play nicely together. In that case, you might have to decide if you want to go further and determine which two items are having hissy fits with each other, or just get rid of the one piece of CC that you know is involved and call it a day.
Also, don't forget to delete the Groups.cache regularly. A new one will regenerate when you play.
Thanks to ALL free-site creators, admins and mods.

Download all of the mods.
Put them in folders in your Downloads folder.
Name them as follows: zJMPescado; zzCyjon, zzSimbology, zzzBoilingOIl.
Put each creator's mods into its own folder, and make sure BoilingOil's is last (because he says so).(Add macrotastics to Pescado's folder).(This is not the only way, but is has worked well for me).
While you are at it, put your other downloads in folders too - under the creators name, or under whatever you want (no z's in front).
The z and zz and zzz will make your computer read the mods last.
Download the programs too but put them somewhere else, not in your game, in a folder in your documents. (For if and when you may need them).
Before starting your game, delete the groups cache, the accessory cache and the thumnails files. The game will generate new ones (and it is apparently essential to delete the groups.cache after adding new mods and before starting the game every time - BoilingOil says so).
Take your time. It will be worth it - and strongs

Thank you, I'll try it out and update you.
what do I do about this mod though "Pregnant Sims Wear Any Outfit " because its apparently the wrong version but I don't even know which version to get.
Also do I also put all of my other mods into folders and start them with 'z' 'zz' etc and go on till the last mod? or just those 4?

@SheGamerReloaded -sorry, I have been out for a while.
http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,91730.0.html - this is the one updated for EP8 (pregnant sims wear any outfit)
Only the folders where you have mods in (those that change the game - with z) - the rest you can name whatever you want (creator's name, or tables, chairs, beds, etc).
As for your hoodchecker files - almost everything is wrong there! I am not an expert with the hoodcheker, but it should not have such long lists of invalid relationships with self, incorrect sim substance (or whatever), met self all the time - you can try to fix it with the hoodchekcer. However, your hoods seem royally borked up to me.
Or first try the repair option in Origin (right click on the game while signed in). You will have to reinstall your camera mod but your other cc would remain intact. Be patient - you will get it right

Thank you for replying. I've updated my mods folder completely and arranged it into folder and also updated the mods to the versions etc.
like so:
but when I tried installing this "Hack Conflict Detection Utility" http://www.paladins-place.org/main.htm
it just showed this and I don't know why.
I'm currently repairing my game...would I need to install my graphics rules thing back?

Your folders look better! You should also put a z before Squinge - that is also mods, as well as MogHughson - I think Squinge should probably load after Pescado's - and probably all of the others (I do not know or use all of them) too, but start with these Try to have JMPescado load first.
The Hack Conflict Detection Utility does not find the path in UC - so you have to do some extra work. Copy your Sims 2 Ultimate Collection folder and rename it The Sims 2. So now you have 2 files in your EA folder, which are exactly the same except for the names. Now run the HCDU - it will find the folder named The Sims 2 (you should delete this folder afterwards).
If you find a conflict, don't panic. It can normally solved by moving the load order.

I'm glad you got onto Hood Checker. I think @BoilingOil just says to load Pes's mods first.

Okay , so I ran the HCDU like you said after I updated my mods folder, installed the mods needed for less corruption and arranged everything and it came up with this
But then when I was playing my game....I now can't remove my toddler from her crib. No one can, she gets up to be lifted but both sims just stand there and can't be moved away.....is there another corruption now. I tried using the Debugger to force them unstuck and it didn't work so I existed the game without saving. Any help?

No I didn't look at any file. When you ran hood checker it has a remove feature but you may also have to open simpe. First though tell it to remove what it can.

So I've used that and removed the files and I've attached what it looks like after......are the 'after' files what should be there....however my toddler is still stuck in the crib and who ever is going to pick her out is stuck too....is it a mod corruption?

I looked at one, that is a lot of corruption. No, this is hood corruption most likely nothing to do with mods. I hope you read over the Wiki article. Force error on the family, make backups, if they are important sims extract them with simpe, clone them in body shop and then you always have them.
You can keep your hood running longer by never doing any of the VBT; moving sims between hoods, putting sims into houses and moving the house to the bin, deleting all character cheat, deleting sims, deleting graves. Make sure if you install CC that uses an NPC sim to never delete the NPC file.
Save all lots to file and to the bin before any sim has moved in.
make backups often
Use SimPE to extract important sims and clone in body shop.
use Hood checker.
if you are not causing corruption and are mopping up small things with hood checker you can keep a hood running a long time. There are people here with hoods over 8 years old.

Save all lots to file and to the bin before any sim has moved in. make backups often Use SimPE to extract important sims and clone in body shop. use Hood checker. if you are not causing corruption and are mopping up small things with hood checker you can keep a hood running a long time. There are people here with hoods over 8 years old. |
I basically have 2 choices...to copy over my sims...but what about the alien children I have and all these family were made from one main people that died, so these are the 2 generation of that family, they are brother and sisters, some are witches etc and aliens....so how would that work and I have over 11 sims in each family. its just so confusing but I think I'll have to start over again....at least theres no more crashing

You can extract all your sims with simpe, it's pretty easy. After they are extracted you have to clone them in bodyshop as the extracted sims can be buggy and last thing you want in your new sims is for them to come with any corruption. So once cloned you delete those extracted sims in bodyshop and keep your clean clones. http://pixel-trade.livejournal.com/16091.html Once you have clean copies of your important sims you can set them up like the originals. You will need to jot down things about your sims so you know what to set.
So thier personality and star sign, their skills, their hobby perhaps, who they are related to, if they are a witch and perhaps their interests. So long as you have the info down about them you can then set up your clone to be just like them. Some of that you can do with mods like the bat Box and simblender or you can do all of it in simpe. You can even clone dead sims if you want and kill them in your new hood. i never bothered with that, when I did a rebuild some eyars ago I just kept the living sims. I extracted over a hundred, but many I just left in a folder like that.

Starting over is not all that bad (Been there, done that more than once!)
If that toddler is still in the crib, I suggest a 50/50 too - but a new hood is definitely the best way to go

I believe Mary has already pulled her cc. Anyway the hood checker file indicates a lot of corruption.

Yes - I looked at those files, and it sure looks like trouble. I don't know how to look for corruption, really, but those are long lists of problems and comparing it to mine, it is probably a good thing that she has pulled her cc. It seems ages ago, but actually my hood blew up around 2010 - and I had no idea about the VBT's then myself, so there is hope

Remove the 'z' from Pescado's folder, and put one of the character !@# in its place. YES, that will work: folder names can start with special characters like that. That way, it will go all the way to the top of the list, and all Pescado's mods will load before everything else. In case of any conflict, the other files will load last, and therefor win the conflict.
Yes, I know, at this moment you have no conflicts anymore... But if you add new mods, you might. And not all conflicts are really bad. Some are meant to be. My game runs fine with 20 conflicts, and has so for several years.

That seems quite suitable, somehow

I have stacks of conflicts since the baby dangle toy is said to conflict with itself and a couple of other things have nonsensical 'conflicts'. The baby dangle might be because I have the added no crying with medium bladder and some kind of sound fix. Would that be it @BoilingOil ?
So take the conflicts into consideration but don't yank it all out because it may be nothing.
