This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default EReg.exe Application Error
Since getting my new upgrade I reinstalled the sims2. But everytime it tries to electronically register I get the following message:

EReg.exe application error
This instruction at "0x100503b3" referenced memory at "0x00000000".
The memory could not be "read".
Click ok to terminate the program
Click cancel to debug the program.

I click cancel to debug that didn't work.
Before my upgrade I could elecronically register the game fine.
How can I fix this?
Thanks!

I found this page when I googled your error http://www.file.net/process/ereg.exe.html. Run a virus scan and see what happens.

Thank you for that link. The computer tech guy who upgraded my computer is coming back early next week to place a cable from my graphics card to my monitor as I am having 'little issues'. So when he comees I will get him to fix it. And make him read the article. The wierd thin is that this version of windows xp is the same one I had one my computer before(I have the legal copy) the only real difference is the virus scanner before I upgraded last year I had AVG no problems, then I had avast! on last year when he upgraded at that time and this time when I upgraded he put avg back on.

So hopefully I can get it fixed soon.

I adding that nothing has worked. So I will have to just manually register the game for the time being. Don't know why this thread was moved to the archive.

Thanks for your help!
