Default SecuRom Removal Tool
I found on Snooty Sims that EA has a SecuRom Removal tool up just wanted to let you guys know. I did a forum search on SecuRom Removal tool but didn't come up that someone had posted it. I hope it helps someone.

You still have to uninstall the stuff that you got SecuROM with to begin with though... so it's only so useful. Still have to have SecuROM installed if you want to continue playing with the stuff that includes it.

*eyes the list* H&M too huh? Damn. I'm infected! *sobs* But, then, my computer hasn't asploded into a fiery ball of flames (or done anything unexpected since getting H&M actually)... so maybe SecuROM won't incinerate your CPU, kick your dog, and slap your grandma like so many people seem to think...

Edit: My main hard drive died yesterday! I BLAME SUCKYROM!!!11111one

It's just the BBS that thinks it does what HP says,[slaps your granma, kick your dog, etc], well what do you expect-its overrun by a bunch of under 12's.
Most of which blame MTS2 for their games screwing up because they download crappy exchange sims/houses which are full of mixed up content which is incompatable with their games.
I have had no problem with my brand new laptop, and I have them all, :S

I too have all the expansion packs, and BV has caused no problems whatsoever.

What is this SecuRom thing? My friend told me about it, but couldn't explaine to me what it was and what it did. I have H&M and my game is running well. My H&M is the European version though - does that make a difference? All of my games are bought in Denmark except Celebration and H&M - again - does that make a difference?

SofieAmalieN: You can read about SecuROM here. There's also a section dealing with its relation to the Sims 2.

But keep in mind while reading it that a small minority of people have had problems with it (and we don't even know for sure that those problems were caused by SecuROM and not something else); it's just been talked about so much that it sounds like a much bigger risk than it actually is.

LongTallSally: Thanks, I'll take a look at those links.

So far I've haven't had ANY problems with H&M at all, so I think I'll be safe when buying Bon Voyage within the next three months..

The securom has been the whipping boy for anything wrong with simmers computers. The sad part is they're probably not diagnosing their problem properly and just blaming securom for it

"When you're in doubt blame securom!"

people, please do not talk about securom like "gee my computer is still working with securom on it, so it must be okay and all the other people complain without reason" you have no idea what you are talking about.

Securom can cause problems with alot of backup programs that cannot handle the corrupt files that securom installs without your permission.
even the ones from microsoft!

alot of people have problems and spent hours solving problems thanks to securom corrupting their computers.
