Default Can This Laptop run Sims3?
Seriously I need help, I am so tired I am about to fall asleep right here or cry cause nothing is going right today! Its been a long long day for me and my brain has stopped working, and I have already tried to post this once when my computer spazzed on me and had to restart... then I really wanted to cry.

Okay... first off in advance, I am so sorry this is going to be another "can this computer run sims3?" question.

I need to find out if this computer can run Sims 3 before in the morning. Seriously I have looked and tried to find out if this can run it on my own but I can't tell anything, especially about the graphics card.. if its good enough, my brain is that fried! I think it might be able to run it, but I am not sure. Can't post a dxdiag cause the computer is brand new and its going to be a Christmas present for someone..... if it can play the Sims3 then she will be getting that as well. Her mom is coming to pick it up in the morning.

I have to write all this by hand from the box, I hope I dont forget anything.

ok so the important stuff....
OS: Windows 7
Intel Celeron Processor 900
Hard Drive 250GB
System Ram 3GB
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M

The computer is the HP 15.6 Pavilion G60-519WM Enterainment Laptop PC

I know its not a gaming laptop, but those are expensive, and we got this at one of the walmart super deals. If it can't play it she might take it back to the store or someone else might want to buy it that we know since we got a good deal.

Any help would be Appreciated!

Well, according to this wiki page, with that particular Intel GMA graphics card, the answer is a No (sorry!) .

Moreover, the CPU is a Celeron. Others can correct me if I'm wrong - the progression of Intel processors (with latest at the top) - listing its relative processing power at the entry level GHz is:

Intel Core i7
Intel Core 2 Extreme eta: moved up
Intel Core 2 Quad
Intel Core 2 Duo <---- eta: MTS recommendation 2.0 GHz
Intel Core 2 Extreme
Intel Core 2 Solo
Intel Pentium Dual-Core
Intel Core Duo <---- MTS recommendation 2.0 GHz
Intel Core Solo
Intel Pentium P4 <----eta:EA recommended specs 2.4 GHz
Intel Pentium M <---- EA recommended specs 2.4 GHz
Intel Celeron Dual-Core
Intel Celeron M <---- Intel Celeron Processor 900 2.2 GHz falls here
Intel Atom

and the Intel Celeron Processor 900 listed in the specs of this machine have the "dubious honor" of being in the 120th position in this Mobile Processor benchmarklist (relative to current requirements standards).

I took a look at the Walmart page for this deal listing the full specs, and it appears that the HDD might not even be a 7200 RPM as advertised (according to some customer's comments)

TS3 is very resource hungry and she might get away with playing on low settings but most likely not for long term as the CPU and GPU might get fried from overheating and other issues. (It might not even load and crash at or after the intro screen!)

It would suit someone doing wordprocessing, spreadsheets, presentations, surfing, watching movies, etc but not 3D gaming or intensive photo/video rendering or 3D modeling (if she is interested in modding for The Sims)

ps: hope the rest of your weekend fares better!

eta:
AH! my bad! I pulled laptop versions of the processor list and lost something in the translation in the back & forth comparison among 4 web pages.
shiny!

That list is messed up in several ways.. Pentium M is not the same as Pentium 4. It's much weaker. So EA minimums is above a Pentium M. We are also not recommending a Core 2 Duo, not a Pentium Duo. The Extreme CPUs are above even the Quads and the whole Duo vs. 2 Duo vs. Solo is a whole other story.. but anyway, like ellacharm3d said, the Celeron is WAY under.

Thank you very much for your help! I will talk with my aunt about what she wants to do.

And the Intel listing was very helpful in where this one sits.
