This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Generations
Default Crashes when traveling home from China
My game is repeatedly crashing when I try to return home from China. I have tried returning through the phone and waiting until my time is up. I have tried loading my old autosave. I have removed all mods, deleted caches, followed all the steps on the game crashing FAQ. When I start up a new game they can travel to and from China no problem. Is there any way to save my old game? Any way to return to the town (even if I loose that trip)??
While in China I completed a couple different quests in order to get the max visa level and meet my sims lifetime wish. I completed different quests the first time it crashed than the second, after that I have tried returning before she completes her last quest (my oldest autosave). Still crashes. Any ideas to save my game??

The default saving feature, creates a save file/folder and a backup file/folder.
File or Folder depends on what version of the game you are playing.
Unless you are taking steps to create more than 1 backup or save file for your game.
If you haven't, and the save file/folder and the backup file/folder are both corrupted, not much you can do.

How many saved games do you have and how much space do they take up?
Go to Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder and right click on the "Saves" folder then click on "Properties".
Some users have posted problems when the Saves folder reaches rather large sizes.

It says 600mb. I use awesomemod and it saves 2 autosaves, but those are not working. Are these the backups you are referring to or is there another backup file I can try?

If you are using AwesomeMod to create saves, then yes, those would be the ones I was referring to.
If they are not working either, not sure what to suggest next. Are you able to play at all with the saved game
or either of the 2 backups? Or is this where you are in China and unable to return to the home world?

I can play in china, but as soon as I try to go home, whether through time running out or the phone, it loads a slight bit then crashes to the desk top. I tried starting a brand new game and could travel to and from china with no problem.

Do you have the option to Save As and have you already tried this?

Do you have anything in the Sims inventory? Does the Sim have a vacation home?
Maybe try ridding the Sim of any/all possessions and attempt to return home.
Or perhaps you changed something in China the game can't save. Return it to its original state?

Sold all items in the inventory. Do not own any vacation homes. Crashed again upon return home.
How can I return it to its original state? Reinstall??

Out of curiosity, have you looked in the saved game folder to see if you have .bad files?
go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves folder and look for the name of your saved game.
look in the folder to see what files are listed. Corrupted saves sometimes leave .bad files and these
should be removed, before attempting to save again. Might help, might not.

It your current saved game and the backups are all corrupt, you dont have many options.
You can start the saved game and save the sim to the library, then start a new game and put the sim in.
Or you can just start a new game with new sims. You don't need to reinstall, but that game needs to go.
