This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, Nightlife
Default Body Shop Won't Load (Sims 2 Double Deluxe)
I've tried almost everything. First of all, I have vista and a decent ammount of memory. The problem is that when I click on the icon or access the file in program files, it doesn't work. Nothing happens. There's not even an error. The Sims 2 game works fine itself. The Sims game I have is the Sims 2 Double Deluxe. It comes with Nightlife, Celebration Stuff and the basic Sims 2 game. When I go into my program files and into the EA Games folder and Sims 2 DD folder, there are several folders to chose from. In three if those folders, there are different Body Shops. 1.0, 1.2 and 1.8. I've tried opening each of those on seprate occasions and still, nothing happens. People say it takes a long time for it to load but it shouldn't have 24 HOURS. *Let it try to load over night to see* :/ It's frustrating!

Ive reinstalled, called customer service, googled the problem and still no luck. Someone PLEASE help.

I've even read through most of the threads and all articles related to the problem I can find here in both the FAQ section and the archives. Someone please, please help. This is almost the most frustrating thing I've ever gone through. xD

1.8 should be the one you want unless you have an EP newer than DD. The very first time I ran bodyshop after installing on my new pc it took it over an hour to load, and that was with no cc and quite good specs for the pc. I had to start it from the exe in Program Files as none of the shortcuts in the start menu would work.

Open Task Manager before starting bodyshop, and you should see the bodyshop.exe show up. As long as that resource is in the list it is starting, and don't try to run the game or anything that uses game files. Also make sure to read the link Ella posted and to start without any cc.

Sorry for intruding, but I've experienced the same problem recently. My situation is slightly different, and I hope it provides some more insight into this problem (which I believe is absolutely hopeless).

I have two computers with different Sims 2 games installed.

Machine #1:

A PC with Windows XP, 2.8 GHz processor, plenty of memory, crappy video card (Intel 82865).
I have Sims 2 Double Deluxe on this computer with no CC and no mods.

If I use the DD disk and open Body Shop through Program Files > EA Games > Sims 2 Double Deluxe > ...
1) Base > CSBin > TS2BodyShop - I get the message "The Sims 2 Body Shop has stopped working."
2) EP2 > CSBin > TS2BodyShop - Body Shop does not load at all. TS2BodyShop.exe appears briefly in Task Manager but disappears.
3) SP4 > CSBin > TS2BodyShop - Body Shop does not load at all. TS2BodyShop.exe appears briefly in Task Manager but disappears.

Machine #2:

A laptop with Windows Vista, 1.9 GHz processor, plenty of memory, Intel integrated chip.

I have Sims 2 Double Deluxe AND Best of Business on this laptop. I have absolutely no CC or mods.

Before installing Best of Business, I only had Sims 2 Double Deluxe. I could NOT open Body Shop at all with S2DD, and I got the same results on my laptop as I did on the PC. I went absolutely crazy trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with Body Shop. I didn't think patching would do anything, because from what I've read around the Internet the 3-in-1 disks are already pre-patched. I've read through the Body Shop FAQ linked above. Admittedly, the only thing I did not do back then was to generate new user files, but that was after hours of searching for a solution and two fresh installs, and I just gave up.

After installing Best of Business:

If I use the DD disk and open Body Shop through Program Files > EA Games > Sims 2 Double Deluxe > ...
1) Base > CSBin > TS2BodyShop - I get the message "The Sims 2 Body Shop has stopped working."
2) EP2 > CSBin > TS2BodyShop - Body Shop loads within 2 minutes with no CC.
3) SP4 > CSBin > TS2BodyShop - Body Shop does not load at all. TS2BodyShop.exe appears briefly in Task Manager but disappears.

If I use the Best of Business disk and open Body Shop through Program Files > EA Games > Sims 2 Best of Business > ...
1) EP3 > CSBin > TS2BodyShop - Body Shop loads within 2 minutes.
2) SP5 > CSBin > TS2BodyShop - Body Shop does not load at all. TS2BodyShop.exe appears briefly in Task Manager but disappears.
3) SP7 > CSBin > TS2BodyShop - Body Shop loads within 2 minutes.

My conclusion: Body Shop does not work at all with the Double Deluxe disk.

What do you guys think?

I'm not exactly sure how to patch them?

And yes, I tried that FAQ.

Edit: Apparently Double Deluxe doesn't need to be patched at all. There are no patches available.

If that's the truth, then that SUCKS. Completely. And they should really, really fix that. :/ Or offer a free expansion to the people who have to put up with this frustration.

I have the same problem too but when I go to EP2 > CSBin > TS2BodyShop manually, it works?

I also had this problem before my computer crashed and I seem to recall that deleting one of the bodyshops fixes it. I don't remember which one. Back up all your bodyshops, remember which folder they came from, and delete one and then try to open it. If it doesn't work, restore the one you deleted and try another one. I hope this helps.

I have all the EPs now, and just last night I launched Body Shop from my Start menu...with the Fun With Pets DVD in DVD-ROM drive.

I too did the CSBin thing, deleting the ones that didn't work! That was before I got Apartment Life.
