This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, Generations, Pets, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise
Default Loading screen all white...
This is the second time this has happened to me. I print screened it, but for some reason it's not been saved. Anyway, the loading screen is mainly all white aside from the loading bar at the bottom and the writing that was coming across was all blurry.

It was fine when I got to the main menu, but upon loading a saved game, it crashed to desktop. Tried it again with my downloads taken out, no luck.
Tried it with a backup, and still no luck, which makes me think the game has just completely corrupted itself or something?
I am reinstalling now but I'd love to know what the heck it is so I can avoid it again!

It was playing fine last night ALTHOUGH the lot I was playing, when viewed in map view, had gone blue and the building was all white and funky looking. I downloaded Delphy's programme to look for corrupt downloads but it couldn't find any. Am seriously annoyed.

For generic game related issues, please see this FAQ:

    Game Help:Sims 3 Game Problemwiki

  • Sims 3 - Uninstall
This Game_Help:TS3_Uninstallwiki link has the step-by-step instructions to guide you through uninstalling The Sims 3, and its packs (EP/SP).

If you're reinstalling because you're reverting to an older patch, or just do not want to use the Launcher/EADM to patch, read this FAQ Game_Help:TS3_Patchingwiki once through before patching and then follow the guide.

I am very concerned that your graphics card may be failing. That mgpu is known to be defective in that it cannot handle heat the way it was originally intended. Please do all of the above first to rule out a game specific problem. If that fails, then the problem is with your GPU and you need to stop trying to game on that laptop or you will kill it.

Will do. I do run the game with a frame rate limiter and a cooling pad because it used to overheat like crazy, would that make a difference?

Yes and no. The limiter won't make much difference; the cooling pad helps, the fact that you need a cooling pad makes it more likely that the cause is lasting damage caused by heat - cooling pads aren't 100% effective.

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

God damn! I know the graphics card can't be updated in these laptops, so if it were to go would I need to get the whole motherboard replaced? Sheesh it's only a year and a half old!

I reinstalled it and it seems to be fine; no white loading screen, no CTD.

Yes, but in a laptop it's cheaper to buy a new one than to replace all the parts which need to be replaced. I suggest you keep a close eye on the temperatures, even if it isn't crashing any more.

Yeah I do, temp hasn't been too bad since I got the cooling pad; the fans rarely kick in now, and never get to full speed like they did without it.
