This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Default Mods/DCCache: place .dbc file: done! But what about my .ebc file?
Hi Everyone

I followed the advice on this page: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=382520

and got my Sims3Packs from here working. But I cannot see any content from the store ingame, even though it says and stays installed. This is apparently contained in a .ebc file. I have one in my Sims 3/DCCache folder.

Can I put the .ebc into the new Mods/DCCache folder (as I did for .dbc in the help page linked to above)? If so, how can I modify my resource.cfg file to find and read it?

Base game and WA, patched to 1.19/2.14, running on a Mac. As a side note after installing WA my documents/EA/Sims 3 folders remained the same - I Have no Sims 3 World Adventures in the My Documents folder tree. This doesn't appear to be a problem though.

Thanks!!

Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end.

Try copying the *dbc line of the resource.cfg to a new line, and changing dbc to ebc.

Simply add another line? With or without the Priority 500 bit?

Update: I tried it both ways and neither worked. How exactly should I modify the resource.cfg file? Is there a tutorial/explanation anywhere of how it works and how to change it? Eg the Priority numbers. What do they mean?

Please guys.. How do I modify the resource.cfg file to read .ebc files in Mods/DCCache?

Once again...please?

*.ebc are your store item files and they are somehow encrypted. I might not work that way.

A modified resource.cfg would look like this:

Priority 501
DirectoryFiles Files/... autoupdate
Priority 500
PackedFile Packages/*.package
PackedFile Packages/*/*.package
PackedFile Packages/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Packages/*/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Packages/*/*/*/*/*.package
Priority 499
PackedFile Test/*.package
PackedFile Test/*/*.package
PackedFile Test/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Test/*/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Test/*/*/*/*/*.package
Priority -50
PackedFile Probation/*.package
PackedFile Probation/*/*.package
PackedFile Probation/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Probation/*/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Probation/*/*/*/*/*.package
Priority 500
PackedFile DCCache/*.dbc
PackedFile DCCache/*.ebc

As cinrict says, it might not work, it's just a theory.

I tried that, and...it didn't work. It also slowed my game down something chronic. Ah well, thanks for your help. Maybe one day I'll find a fix for store items! Until then I'll have to save my simpoints ;-)
