Well as the title says I haven't played S2 since S3 came out. I recently ditches all of my S3 in favour of S2.

Well I had saved everything from S2 so I just installed all the games and then brought my downloads folder, etc over and put them in place.

I had all my downloads categorised by type and by creators, my mods were in the main folder and not in a sub folder. To my surprise my CC all shows up fine but none of my mods work. I just can't figure out what's wrong. I'm sure I've missed a step out somewhere but it's been so long since I used S2 that I completely forget everything about how to fix this kind of thing for myself.

Anyone got an idea of why my mods aren't working? Was I supposed to put a .dll somewhere or something?

Any help would be much appreciated.

No, no dll files or anything like that for TS2. Usually just dumping it in Downloads and enabling is enough.

Follow the instructions for the "it just ain't working!" type instructions there (even though it's only some stuff that's not) - there's things like the Body Shop trick that might help for you. Also, are the exact same EPs/SPs installed now that were before when you were using that same Downloads folder?

Great to see you back HP. Yeah I reinstalled absolutely everything, I had all EP's and SP's before. I was even careful to install them and patch them in the right order.

I'm sure I already looked at that help file but I'll look again. I've been trying to solve this for about three weeks now. I'm extremely happy to be back to S2, it might not be as flashy but it's a lot more fun.

The think is that I even had saved Sims, etc and everything works fine, all their genetics are right, i.e. they all look as they should. In build/buy, absolutely everything is showing up. It's just the mods and it's so easy to spot right away as my no mosaic doesn't work, they also won 't shut up at the dinner table so it takes a phenomenal time to eat. I had all basic mods, all worked before I stored the old S2 folder on my external hard drive. I just don't understand why they don't work and the cc does.

I'll take another look at the wiki, but like I said I'm sure I had a good look at that before.

Just looked at it. Nothing there refers to mods. All my cc shows up, clothes, hair, objects, everything. It's only the mods that just don't work.

I'm going to try deleting all the mods and downloading new ones, they may well have been updated since I first got them and I see there are loads of new ones.

Sorry for the double post, I thought I should come back and say what I think is going on. The No Mosaic I had was via simpe, if I'm remembering correctly. I didn't have SimPE installed so that's why it didn't work. Not sure about the other ones but will need to watch more closely to see if any are working. The no mosaic might have thrown me,.
