This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise
Default "Invalid file found" patch error
I just reinstalled the game, and I try to install World Adventures but it says the game needs to be updated in order for it to install, but then it just says the setup fails to update and auto terminates.

Can't update via Launcher, I have Origin but it just keeps puking out the "Can't connect to EA download manager" error even if I have Origin running.

Can't install patch manually via downloaded patches either, because it keeps giving me an "invalid file found" error and refuses to patch the F-ing game.

Tried that patch log viewer program. Didn't work, says there is no patch log found blah blah blah...

I need to be patched in order to play with Awesome Mod. SCREW THIS CRAP, I JUST WANT TO PLAY!!!!!!

What do I do?

Before you start patching, have you done these things listed here: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...fore_You_Begin?

If you still keep getting that "Invalid file" error this mihgt be helpful: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...alid_File_Error

  • Sims 3 - Launcher and/or EADM Issues
If you encounter issues while downloading Store/Exchange items or when trying to patch or Launcher won't even start, please try the suggestions on these FAQ articles:

What file are you using to update manually?

If Origins keep giving that error message, then you most likely have an outdated version - update it.
If you get the "Invalid..." message when updating manually, tells me you did not use the SuperPatcher from Game Help:TS3 Patching:Patch_Download/Currentwiki.

And yes, reading the Patching FAQ series @gelis linked to is a good thing, just read it once thorougly from beginning to end. :) Then the only ones you need to bookmark after that is the "Patch_Table" and the above "Current" pages, to keep track of patch number versions.
