This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Can't click "More..." in any pie menus
This issue may be a repeat that has been asked before, but searching for "More..." doesn't exactly narrow down search results much. Still, I couldn't find a solution to this problem. I've done all of the troubleshooting stuff and still in my custom neighborhood with exactly one sim in it, for some reason, I can't select "More..." in ANY of my pie menus.

What can I do?

Just to confirm, you've patched all of your EP/SPs, ran the game without any CC, and determined that this happens only in your custom hood by letting the game regenerate the user files and tried with an EAxis made sim/family and More... still isn't working correctly?

Please do not PM me with Game or Site Help questions. Post them in the appropriate section after going through the FAQs.

This has happened to me before, but I was always able to click it *eventually*; I just had to keep trying for a bit. It was like the game was hanging and couldn't process the next pie menu quickly enough. I just had to keep clicking around the More button until it worked. I hate to say it, but this started happening to me before my old computer's graphics card started to go—not that I would think it was a graphics card issue, but it did happen when my last computer's hardware was getting iffy. What are your computer specs?

Hopefully, I'm wrong and it's something much easier (and cheaper) to solve!

I had that happen to me once too. With mine it was more like the game couldn't see me clicking more until I had clicked on it ten times or so. A game regeneration fixed mine so I figured it had been a problem in the Sims 2 folder files. Have you tried pulling your download folder first? I would try a game regeneration next. Just pull the whole Sims 2 folder to your desk top and run the game. Then you need to switch around neighbourhood folders or any other folders with saved things such as paintings, sims and lots.

Sorry to bump an old topic, but I have this issue with the new Ultimate Collection from Origin. I am completely new to the Sims 2.

I worked it out. Seems like the game gets confused when you play on a laptop with a touchpad while using a mouse. I pressed the button to disable my touchpad, and the more button is responding now.

How do you disable the touchpad, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm starting to think it's a problem with TS2UC and everyone having it on newer machines as I too have the problem. :/

I think we'd have seen a lot more reports if that was the issue. Have you all tried using mouse instead of the touchpad, and removing CC?

I'm on a Windows 8.1 PC, so no touch pad. I'll try removing CC and come back with results.

EDIT: After testing it several time and removing CC, it looks like the problem is with CEP Extra files and the only work around is using the TAB button instead.

As I said above try regenerating your game. Rename your sims 2 folder and let the game make a new one then move your files across to the new one.

No one mention which windows version they're using. First, I'm no expert. But I never had problems with any other PC until 8.1. I think the problem is in the mouse or, as someone else mentioned about touch screen and mouse conflicting. My mouse used to randomly, and often, multi-click, occasionally not click easily. An example would be placing a window and then having multiple windows in one spot if move objects were on. I kept resetting the speed on the mouse and the problem came back. Eventually it started working normally. This was in game and I thought it was a conflict, but it also happened on other things I did outside the game. This might be the problem or not, just thought I would mention it.

I play UC on Windows 10 without any problems whatsoever. I also played it on Windows 7 for some time - it runs a lot better. There are do's and don'ts, so it might help to read the sticky thread if you are new to Sims 2 and UC.

I had the the same problem too.
For some reason, when i installed a mod (the shorter university semester mod to be specific) it suddenly started to work. (don't ask me why) It also fixed the "one click object placement rotation" problem i had earlier. I'm lucky that i didn't think about reinstalling my game!

For some reason the next time i went into the game the problem came back. Now I don't really know how to fix this.

I have this problem from time to time. I play UC on Windows 7 now but have had the problem on my older machine with XP and the game discs. It seems like most items on the menus have a large responsive radius but the More button sometimes has a very tiny one that may not be located on the word at all, thus requiring clicking various places on or around the word. If I note what location works, I can usually hit it more easily the next time. It may happen in one household and not the next or in one play session and not the next. I haven't noticed any pattern to its occurrence

I have found that the "more" option on the menu disappears when you have a mod problem. This may not mean mods that don't work together, rather a mod not updated for AL (when there is one); or a missing mod.

You will have to go through all your mods and read the instructions of the creator, and make sure that you don't have outdated versions or something (Like 2 files when you should only have the AL one).

This happened in my game when I used NoSimLoaded without the smarterEPcheck. Although BoilingOil states clearly that the smarterEPcheck is needed, I forgot to add it to my game. It took me days to find the problem. Good luck.

I thought I had the same problem, turns out theres a tiiiny tiny spot on the "more"-button that you gotta find and click in order for it to work. It's really weird and idk why it's acting like that but once you've found the perfect little spot to click it's easy to find next time (:

Sorry to bring up an old post but I've just been experiencing this issue now and I've done everything possible including buying a new mouse for my windows 10 computer and nothing worked till I tried Vermin's tip. I clicked everywhere around the 'more' area and it works when I click the little bump on the 'r' and it worked perfectly fine.

Don't worry, this happened to me once. There is a simple work around; click on your menu, and instead of trying to click "more" simple hit tab on your keyboard. The game should cycle you through the different areas of the pie menu.
--Sometimes doing this will actually unstick the menu and you can use your mouse again.
--It's a bit annoying, but it does work, honest.
