Last week my computer crashed and my entire system had to be rebooted, which uninstalled all of my Sims 3 games. So today I have gone about reinstalling them. I have tried to reinstall them in the order of their release - first Base Game, then Late Night, then Generations, and now Pets.

However, I am having trouble installing pets. Every time I get to a certain point (File: D:/Caches/AppaloosaPlains.objectCache), it can't get any further. I get a "Feature Transfer Error" pop-up, saying, "Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)".

I have no idea what this means, nor do I know why I am having this problem. I have never had this problem installing ANY of my expansion packs before (including Pets the first time I installed it). The base game, Late Night, and Generations all installed without any problems.

I have deleted all my mods and custom content, and I have also updated to the latest patch, and I have retried many times. I do not want to delete ALL of my files under the Electronic Arts folder because I have a saved story that I blog about and I am quite far in it.

If you have any idea what's going on, please let me know, particularly in language a four-year-old child can understand. I'm not particularly savvy on my computer so I don't know how to do a lot of things. Thank you for any help you can give! I really want to be able to install all my games!

Edit (Update): I have successfully installed Supernatural and Seasons. The only other EP I own (besides Pets that is not working) is Ambitions, which I've currently lost at the moment so I don't know how that one will work. I will try to download Pets again in a moment, after cleaning the disc.

FINAL UPDATE: After cleaning my disc of all smudges, my Pets EP finally downloaded completely. I'll leave this here if it helps others, but I can delete it if a moderator would like.
