This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3
sims 3 package problem
hello !
I downloaded ts3 install helper monkey to have package files in my game , so in the start I downloaded pegyzone skin set and was ok, I saw this skin in game ...
later I downloaded from here (modsims2) another skin set , and after that I couldn't see both of them in game same with other package files !!
I tried to delete files and install them again - nothing .. I tried to reinstall helper monkey nothing aswell !
I have no Idea what to do , even through if I delete all files from package folder .
so I wonder maybe theres a program which deletes files completely, coz I downloaded 1 file form here to check if there are problems with files, and I saw I have those files (even through if I delete them) but they all are fine, no problems .
so yeah that's really odd and I hate that -.-
if some of u know how to fix, or delete those files completely with a programme please say me asap D: :lovestruc

You're using the Monkey Helper to have package files in game? Since the release of Ambitions and Patch 1.12, in June 2010, EA sanctioned the use of mods and a new location. What is your current patch level? Which game(s) do you have installed?

You should probably have a look at Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Fileswiki, Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files/Old Way to New Waywiki, and Game Help:TS3 Patchingwiki

I download that monkey, and it works fine no bugs in game nothing ,but this time when I downloaded and installed 2nd skin , all my package stuffs in-game just disappeared ..
I tried to install package files without install helper monkey, by reading that guide, but I don't get it xD

i am kind of a dim bulb but if the second skin is the cause and you got it from here then its a package, thats in your mods folder, then you can easily remove it from game by browsing to the mods folder and finally putting it out. delete the cache files (simcompositorcache + caspartcache) and check back in game if its REALLY the cause of all other cc to vanish. troubleshooting: maybe they were both defaults...sounds stupid but that happenend to me too so plz no offend meant.

I did delete files from package folder, but that did not help . now my folder is empty ,no files,bt after using that programme to check if there any problems with files,it says I have them all, when I try to reinstall file, my monkey says it already in game ,that's really confusing.
I read about cache files, and im not sure if that help me,but I try coz I have no other ways haha

one question concerning the monkey:
is the helper monkey still up to date since the new framework.....? i thought i read that it was meant to be used before. (meaning before package files have to be put under documents) please read this thread , post #2 by HystericalParoxysm here: http://modthesims.info/t/430568 maybe then you shouldnt use it anymore...maybe the monkey also isnt able to handle sims3packs anymore?
are you using the NEW FRAMEWORK for package files? http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit..._Way_to_New_Way
full thread for new start http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit...Package%20Files

concerning the error: this was solved here but its a lot of reinstalling and using craccct folders? - i have no idea how reliable it is also its from a huge gaming forum http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t...02957b48-solved

edit: lets wait what someone smart (a moderator) says please.

The Helper Monkey should not be used anymore. At all. Don't use it. You need to switch your stuff to the new way, and do -only that-.

the monkey does not work fine but installing packages on your own isnt that hard!
if you installed costum content then yes it is good + safe + advisable to delete the cache files. why? read this http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...ete_Cache_Files
in short: there are different cache files for different content. if you do not delete them then content can not show up, mods cant do what they are supposed to do... its really no magic. i dont write more cause you should follow the link

No, you don't have to delete cache files every time. It's not necessary.

What isn't appearing in game? The extracted Sims 3 pack, or the Multi-extractor?
The multi-extractor is not supposed to appear in game. It's a utility that you run outside of the game to convert a sims 3 pack to a package file, which then gets installed the same way any other package file is installed. (ie, navigate to your Mods/Packages folder and drop it somewhere in there. "Somewhere" means into the base Packages folder, or into the appropriate subfolder if you are feeling a bit more organized.)
