Hi all,
I need some help, please. Please, please, please! I've searched the forums extensively for the last couple of days with no luck. Normally I find exactly the answer I'm looking for or at the very least get pointed in the right direction. No luck this time so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have University, NL, and the Christmas party addon/expansion or whatever it is they're calling it.
I have one sim (Cassandra Goth) whose cooking skill increases but she doesn't gain new foods. I've checked all the other sims in the neighborhood and none of them are having this problem, therefore, I don't believe this to be an issue of hacks. I maintain a separate folder for my hacks (nothing major and the pay at mailbox hack being the only one, so far, not working with NL) and I check my downloads folder every single time I download a house. I also only download the house, none of the content if it has any.
Anyway, her cooking skill was maxed out so I deleted two points via SIMPE bringing her down to an 8 to see if this was the problem. Didn't work. The only deserts she can make are crepes and geletin and she still doesn't progress beyond making salmon.
Thinking I may just have a buggy house, I moved the family out and built them an entirely new house from scratch on a new lot. No joy. She still progresses but doesn't gain new foods to prepare. I only found this problem because I wanted to make cookies to summon Santa, but the cookies never appeared as a desert option although it does for my other sims.
I thought I'd seen a thread about a similar problem a long, long time back, but I can't remember what I was searching for at the time. If anyone has an idea how to fix this singular sim I'd be very grateful.
Thank you.
Jenn
Hello, again,
Well, it's been awhile and no one has commented. Today I did a completely squeaky clean reinstall (removed everything from my HD including the registry) of TS2, Uni, NL, and then holiday thing. After all that I moved my downloads back, reinstalled CEP and SimPE, and reconfigured my userstartup.cheat because I neglected to save a copy. Oh, I also moved a saved Pleasantview and collections folder. I deleted/copied Pleasantview several times while trying to figure this out and didn't want to lose what little I had accomplished the last time when I decided to nuke the whole shabang. So now I've got the whole Goth household and Mortimer (nor anyone else in the household) can't make Christmas cookies or make a meal beyond Salmon. Even though he's got a level 9 cooking skill. At this point the Goth household is the only one I've touched. Brandy Broke can make Christmas cookies.
I wish there was a way I could save this and send it to someone else to take a look at because I definitely think this is a bug.
I guess you can close this thread since no one has any ideas or suggestions. Thank you. I appreciate your time.
