Holiday Party Pack items trouble... PLEASE HELP

I got Holiday party pack a little while ago and when i installed it, all was fine. A while ago, i installed some new downloaded stuff, and noticed that all of the HPP items had now got the custom content symbol on them, and could be deleted. This happened a while ago, and it worries me. What if it does that for all other EPs? I can't remember what the downlaods were that I put on before it did that sorry. It may not even have anything to do with them! PLEASE HELP!

also, another question that has popped to mind, i might as well put it here!

I am cleaning out my downloads with The sims 2 pack clean installer. If i disable a custom career, what happens if a sim is currently away at work in that career? If they do not come back, can i use 'boolprop testingcheatsenabled true' to shift-click on the mailbox an teleport them there?

Also, will anything bad happen if i disable a hack, such as a 'woohoo with anyone, no matter the relationship' bed hack?

For the party pack issue- you've probably downloaded a lot which has some of the items which were available from the official site included in it. So, if the lot contains the snowman, the snowman will now appear in game with an asterix. All you have to do is look for these items in your downloads folder and remove them, as they are already in the holiday pack.
For the career, it's best to make any sims on the custom career path quit their jobs before removing the hack. You may find your game hangs otherwise.
For the hacks question, most hacks can be disabled successfully with clean installer. Hacked objects can be disabled with few problems, but global mods such as teen pregnancy can cause strange and undesirable effects if you disable whilst they are actually in use.

You said for example that if i downloaded a lot with snowman, the snowman would appear like that, the problem is IT ALL is! Well, the furniture anyway. I didnt check the wallpapers/floors etc.

So, do i need to search my downloads folder for a piece of content from that EP? A few more Qs on that:
1) does it actually matter that they are registered as custom content?
2) Do you think it would do it for other EPs?
3) why hasn't it done it for other EPs? eg. I have NL and UNI, if i download a lot with NL and UNI furniture, howcome it doesnt put all of that furniture as custom content?
4) how will i recognise this file in my downloads?

Why does it do this? If it was what you siad, Simsample, why is almost ALL of the HPP furnite like that??

Well, the holiday party pack isn't technically an expansion- it's more of an add on. I would check your downloads for duplicates, as this caused the asterisks to appear in my game. I guess that it is possible that a lot with the holiday pack items in it would include the actual items- you'll soon find out if you check your downloads with the clean installer. The asterisk makes no functional difference, but it is not desirable to have two of any objects in game. It will not happen for the Eps- they are recognised by the game as being game objects not custom objects, however the Maxoid monkey objects were recognised as custom.
