Please Help with a fountain problem!!

this may sound like a stupid question but how come my fountains don't work? When I place them on the lot, the water does not shoot up. Do I have to do something to them to make them work? Someone please help :)

You have to be in play mode for the water to 'shoot up' - in build/buy mode there is no water coming out.
