For a couple of days now, I have been trying to find the answer to this one simple question, but it appears no one has ever asked it, nor wanted to know. Or maybe, I'm just not looking in the right place (yes - I did read the FAQ's and used the search). But anyway.
I want to de-install Open for Business, because it uses way too much space, and I simply don't play the business-part very often. But what I want to know is, did Open for Business alter any important parts of the game, for example the way it saves lots? Or basically, can I safely de-install the EP without causing my game files to be useless?

I have both Uni and Nightlife installed. Did anything important change from Nightlife to OFB?

Yes, Open for Business did change quite a lot- the format of the save games, for a start. There is a warning when you install any EP or SP to tell you this, and to remind you to back up your game files in case you need to uninstall. So the savegames you have now (anything in the 'Neighbourhoods' folder) are not playable without OFB. Also, bear in mind that the installer will remove all files in your Sims 2 folder when you uninstall- including your custom content. So please back it all up before you do anything! You will need to restore a pre-OFB backup of your neighbourhoods, or start over.
