Game refuses to start up

I don't know why, but my game refuses to start up. Yesterday it worked perfectly fine, but not today. :( I put in the CD, it shows me the sims pets logo on the white background and after a few seconds it show me this.

I haven't downloaded any hacks or such since yesterday that might mess up the game, so I'm stumped. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

I got this same window today. I deleted the Accessory.cache and Groups.cache files from "C:\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2" and the game started right up.

murronrose is right. Deleting the game generated files (also cigen.package) is the first thing to try when your game won't load. Let us know if that works Cory.

Hi;

I have almost the same problem as cory_g, except the game has never worked at all since I installed the Pets EP. The game starts, I have the EA games logo, then the presentation video launches, but at the moment the game should launch (blue screen with squares and the green bar filling up), I have that blank error message.

I deleted the game generated files (I didn't even have a groups.cache or accessory.cache), and it still doesn't work.
I have an ATI Radeon 9250, so I did what they advised in the ReadMe File (go back to the previous pilots), and it doesn't work either.

So if anyone has solved this kind of problem, I would be so much grateful if he could help me!
